definitely didn't disappoint me. if that's how you play with no sleep and hungover - then you've got game. you looked sharper and sharper after the first hour. plus Sup tends to make us look far more inept than we probably are because he's a real bastidge. i especially liked the novelty of the monica seles/jan michael gambill two fisted action on both sides that you punished. and even better because you didn't squeal or grunt when you hit it. really nice groundies.

I plan to get there tommorrow around 3ish. depending on when boss lets me leave, and finding a suitable parking spot around the venue. Im hoping to cut outta work like 2 or 230 and get early enough to park decent.

If you plan to pay in the paid parking, it is 10 bucks. If you want to park in one of the satellite lots (in Rock Creek Park) that are serviced by shuttles, it is free. Make sure you check the website so you know where/when/what to do.

Sap i probably wont have time for drinks. It takes me a good 20 minutes to get to the exit over there. Im sure itll take me much longer than that to figure out where Im goin and to actually find the parking and stuff. I should be at the gates at 330 though.

Take the Shady Grove Red Line train to the Van Ness Station and grab a shuttle there, right? Any more complicated than that and my few remaining brain cells will explode.

Ummm, yes. There really is no tail gating at Legg Mason. Not sure it is really allowed...check the website.

I think waiting in the parking lot to meet up with people is no problem, but the people taking shuttles will be dropped off at the gate, not in the parking lot.

The cages felt pretty good, a little clunky, but overall pretty nice.

If anyone want's to hit today/tonight let me know.

They were clocking up on his serve, but they kept going cross court. I only got burnt DTL once. So since they kept going cross court, I kept poaching. Didn't always get the ball, but it made them think a little bit and miss a few returns. FWIW - On match point I poached, it was a little too far and glanced off the tip of my racket. Anyway, we were getting beat and were weren't going to do anything just standing there, so the only option is to poach. I guess they were too nice and decided not to aim for my head.

Don't worry about playing last night. Looked like the other guy didn't come through anyway, so odds are even if you came, the capt would have been sitting on the side or playing canadian dubs.

Met this one new player last night - Army dude - he had a good game and played with the Dunlop McEnroe Maxply racket - the one that HW was trying to get TFM to buy.

my previous idea that i play better after a few cervezas has been shattered.
weird, a month ago after 5 beers i played lights out.
now i can't play at all after 1or2. maybe if i chug them... must find out.

i was worried after warming up with the pink spheres that i was going to suX, (sorry about spraying balls everywhere but in the court),
but once we started the set, i played pretty good today. go RQisT1L !

The word on me after my appt today is this:

Possible tendonitis or stress fracture. Still swollen, and now a bit bruised, but because the painful area is right at the base of ankle/top of foot, doctor wasn't sure exactly what was going on. Doc wrote me an X-ray order, but said to wait two weeks, and if no improvement, then go get the X-ray, go back to her, and then figure it out from there. If it improves on its own, then just let it go on its own. Have to keep wearing my soft brace, keep icing, and taking ibuprofen. She said light stuff is okay, so we should be fine to play Sap! :twisted:

Seriously, though, will be taking it easy. I would be up for hitting as long as peeps understand I'm not going to be running for any drop shots (hmmm, geeee, wonder how all this happened?).

No open containers...I learned that the hard way yesterday. If you have some way to conceal it, then no problem. Do you have some of those small glass bottles? If so, that's the way to go!

Vitaly...you still thinking of coming tomorrow? If so, I would call and get your ticket(s?) as soon as possible...when Roddick plays (and he is tomorrow) there is a possibility of a sell out.

First up tomorrow is doubles at 4 (Isner/Goldstein is one of the teams playing), then Roddick no earlier than 6pm.

Thanks. I'm happy to say it feels even more improved today...so I'm thinking the X-ray will be unnecessary. Still not sure what I did, but I'm thinking investing in an ankle brace to play in or learning how to tape my ankle is on the docket for me!
