But behold.. brace yourself. The new Vapors! The black version:
I seriously may buy boxes of these shoes and never change. They look sweet!!!!
*Double EDIT* Auzzie - I'm sure you've seen this site before... you better hope your restaurant business takes off.
https://www.tennis******.com/racquets.htm blocked out word starts with "M" and rhymes with "tennis".
I'm sitting this one out...but was thinking I may come out and watch, and if I do, I'd rather watch someone I know!
Good luck!!!!
Speaking of funny faces.. I see you like that pic I sent of Sebastian. Nice avatar.
P.S. You know he and some other hair bands come to Nissan during the summer. If you want to go.. we go.. get drunk.. relive the good ole days, where bands didnt have alpha numeric names and we didn't feel dated talking to TheJRK and JRS about hip hop..
P.S. I still think of cute bunnies when they say Hip Hop.. now try to image what I'm thinking when they say Urban Rap *insert TFM joke*.
Yeah I got two bagel pro sets (8-0) for my first two matches today. First round was #15 on the ACTA ladder, Second round was #7 on the ACTA ladder. Both decent players.
Served for the match and was broken, then was able to break him to take it 8-6. Just started going for broke to pressure him that final game. Somehow it worked.
So semifinals tomorrow: Bluemont Park @ 12 pm. Anyone is welcome to watch and maybe even help me warm up.
Was this the guy you were playing with when I dropped a racquet off at lake Newport that one time? I thought I may have seen him, don't know his results though.

Then ran into an extremely good player from Ashburn. He is on Eugenius's level, and might be able to give Sup a good run for his money. More topspin than me, bigger kick on serve than me, more power than me, forehand, backhand, everything seemed better. I raced out to a 3-0 lead, then had break points for 4-0, but he held and went ahead 4-3. That's when those negative thoughts started to creep in. We proceeded to go game for game until he went ahead 5-4. I then won three games in a row for 7-5. Served for the match and was broken, then was able to break him to take it 8-6. Good win Mark. I knew you would kick some behind. These fast feets of yours are serious weapons in their own right - big shots are no good when they keep coming back. Good luck tomorrow.
well its a charity tournament, so I doubt prize money. There was a 3.5 and up draw and a 4.0 and up draw for men's and women's.
Had quite the interesting mixed match tonight. Played a 4.0 guy and 3.0 girl...no *way* she played like a 3.0. *sigh* There seems to much more of this in the mixed levels than at just regular women's leagues.
Anyway, we had great beginning. They served, I ripped a FH down the line. Surprised everyone, including myself. That was the highlight of the first set (other than me holding my serve once). Actually the only time I lost my serve was when I was serving 1-4. We lost the game, but the other team thought that was the set. I said no. It took awhile, but I finally was able to show them that we had one more game to play....the serve order when 3.0 girl, me, 4.0 guy, my partner. So, if I had just served, and it was only the second time...we had only played 6 games. Doesn't take a math major. Anyway, we go back out, play one more game, and lose. Ugh. 1-6
Second set, my partner started reading returns a bit better (he's a super fast guy, but hits a lot into the net), and I actually get my racquet on a few serves, and it was tight! I was serving 3-5, and no way was I dropping this game! Held serve *again*...I was on a roll.
Then, of course, we lost 4-6. *sigh* I felt like I played pretty well though, especially from the baseline...I was getting the 4.0 guy's shots back. He actually tried to recruit me for their team when my partner was off getting some water. That's two recruitments in one week actually. Not sure though, especially since after these double matches, with the exception of playing with JRS, I come off thinking 'boy, I wish I could play singles'!!!
*sigh*
Oh i get it now. You and Frank are in the same 4.0^ tournament.
I'll contemplate packing a six pack and going out to watch.
auzzie - grats on the wins. if you played that guy with the initials DC -- i've seen him around before in NOVA. very solid player. could probably play 4.5 leagues if he doesn't get bumped up. i'm curious to see who made it through the upper side of the draw.
I don't know who I am playing, I walked away without asking. I tried emailing the coordinator, but no response yet. And I would love a warmer upper!
hahahaha thanks, Xisbum! p.s. am I a "little engine that could" story?
auzzie took the first game close. no racquet changes. a bunch of wookie yells from his opponent.
i took sup, vit, topaz to the dirtiest vietnamese i can find to give them a little system shock of 3rd world nations. they'll be glued to the toilet for the next 3 days.

On a side note, I played every match this weekend with yellow/blue Donnay. Thank god it lasted for 5 matches. But I wonder if I could have had more of an effect on the outcome of the final if I played with a different racquet....
Is the tea that potent?
you played great Auz. that is a lot of matches in 2 days.
that guy in the finals, (Stefan Koubek!) was a beast.
huge hitter and with a lead he was that much tougher
because he could hit out and take chances.
don't take it out on ol'Yeller! you gotta dance with the girl that brung ya!
my advice, which is worth more than gold, is to work
on a bigger 1st serve.
most of your competition, and me, mess up with your consistent
kicker, but that guy ate it up and knew what was coming.
if the Oz-man could get a few more free points on serve and keep
opponents guessing a little more on 1st serve with what is coming,
the trophy case would be overflowing.
If the rest of TWMAC could get a SMOOTH 2nd serve kicker like Auz, and Auz had a JRK/Vitaly/Hollywood crusher, we would all be at least .5 level better. But Auz still shows that consistency and spin wins out over power and flat.
Congrats to Auz for a great weekend of tennis.
not sure how to put this more gracefully but i'm sure that i caught you eating vitaly's eggroll from the corner of my eye.. i'll save the potentially misinterpretable conversation of the the said eggroll
TFM,
I'll post a video of the Winner/champion .. maybe that will strike your memory better than initials.
Btw, I know DC and his friends. I recognized them at the tournament and talked to them. We chatted and I told him about the forum and this thread so look for him if Im not around. I got his number. You and I should hit some doubles with him and his other asian contigent soon.
Actually...it was a springroll!!!
