Despite being my favorite tournament...ever and my favorite surface to watch...

Im not excited this year...i wanted Fed Vs Nadal SW19 part IV...but it's not going to happen and Im not in slam mode...ie i made plans this week and i haven't put my life on hold..

I'd be glad if fed won but i wont be broken up if he doesn't (if his goal was to please me and only me as a fan then he more than paid his dues in Paris).

Anyone else feel that way

I enjoy Wimbledon much more than Roland Garros.....

I'm excited for the possible Fed-Murray final.Because it would be a historic occasion with either the first Brit winning Wimbledon for ages or Fed becoming the man with most slams ever.The normally calm British crowd would be wild because of Murray.

Other than that I'd be also excited if someone unexpected like Tsonga,Novak or Roddick wins.

I also feel that Fed winning Paris really completed his career.

Overall I always enjoy Wimbledon.

I'm excited about it. Wimbledon is my favorite tournament as well. I know what you mean though, it would have been really cool for a fedal final and I'm a bit upset that federer won't have a chance to get his revenge for last year.

However, like zagor said, if it were to be a murray vs. fed final, it will be interesting. The first brit to win wimbly or federer surpassing pete's record. One of those two things happening will be amazing to watch, although I would prefer the latter, but one step at a time. I know it's extremely premature and fed hasn't even gotten past his first round, but it would be so cool to see pete present the trophy to roger.

Edit: I am however really sad ancic, nalby, and gasquet won't be there. I have always loved seeing ancic and gasquet play on grass.

Of course! It's Wimbledon man! Get what your saying though, with Nadal gone, it's a little bit of a dampener. But we could still have a great semis up to final if we end up with all top 7 players.

I like Roddick but that is sort of the reason I would rather Murray in the final. I think Murray would give Federer a tougher challenge, make a bigger fight to win.

It would definitely be better if Nadal was playing, but it looks like an exciting draw that could produce some fun tennis. Let's hope for the best.

Yes, but I'm extremely worry about the TV coverage. They may screw us again with all the "only US players show" and blah,blah,blah: 21 commentators on board nonstop craptalking, just like the RG.

Spot on. I'm more excited about this Wimbledon than I have been for years. As you say, a Federer v Murray final and all it entails would be something truly special.

how can you moan about a tournament even before the first ball is struck?? how is that possible? nadal is out, so now wimbledon is gonna be boring? were you saying that the last four years when nadal was getting to the final of roland garros every year? and winning every year?

i look forward to every slam, because there are only four a year. i am looking forward to this slam, even without nadal. i am looking forward to this slam, even though i've filled out my bracket and have murray in the final. and i don't like murray. but i am still looking forward to this slam.

there's much more to enjoying a tourney than just getting the final that you long for.

I'm even more excited this Wimbledon now that Nadal is out. This way, we are guaranteed not to have the same final 4 times in a row between Federer and Nadal so there will be someone new in the final this year, and to me, that's very exciting, especially if it's Murray since the crowd will be really into it. :)

We'll have to put up with the two most overrated untalented pushers of all time standing 5 meters behind the baseline moon-balling each other for hours (one swiss, one scot).

Let me guess...Most boring since AO 2006?

Djokovic probably won't prove you wrong, but Murray very well could. I think he's got a shot at going to the final.

Total pity that Nadal isn't there this year, because I think that Federer would have beaten him in the final anyway.

so its clearly not going to be the same for me

I feel like an idiot asking this, but SW19 = what? I know I'm gonna hate myself when I hear what it is, since I feel like I know what it means, but I just can't think of it haha.

I guess you can say its like making a sequel to a movie without its main character, still could be great just not really sure what to think yet

im really excited to watch novak get whipped in the early round again. Also, excited to see how many racquets Safin breaks(im guessing 3).

Excited to see James Blake lose to a guy he should kill again, and excited to see Gulbis push Murray to 4 sets.

Most of all, excited to see Federer hopefully reclaim his crown

I'm not convinced with Murray on grasscourts. He says he is much more comfortable at the US Open and Australian Open. He could get to the final but Fed is likely going to win given this is by far his favorite surface.

Yes I am very excited,but also am I bit dissapointed and angry because I won't be able to watch the final!So if it's Roddick Federer I will know at least I haven't missed much :p

And yeah, with Nadal gone i'm definitely not in slam mode. :(

Also, because Fed won the French I don't feel like i'd be watching anything over-the-top special if he were to win. He's GOAT whether or not he breaks Sampras record, IMO.

And I don't want Murray to win.

So unless Djokovic, Safin, or Hewitt make the final, I doubt I'll be watching the tourney as intensively as the AO this year, for example.

Where are the clips of the actual matches from the "09 Wimbledon?

How can you possibly determine that all the matches will be boring BEFORE they're even played? :confused: :-?

SW19 is the postal code (or zip code) for the village of Wimbledon (a suburb outside of London).

Best of the four Slams, and I'm really excited about it. It's Wimbledon, the unofficial world championships of tennis, the most prestitious tournament in the world, the history of tennis lies here. It's the best tournament in the world. EVERYONE who is a true fan of tennis itself looks forward to Wimbledon.

No No, you dufuses.

SW19 is a SWING WEIGHT 1.9 , less than SW2, but definitely more than SW1.
I don't recommend SW19 or SW2, bad for the arm.

Yeah, definitely excited. Rafa not being there is a big loss, of course, but tennis is still tennis, and I'm pretty sure the tennis will still be good even if there's no chance for a potential Fed-Nadal rematch. :)
