karlovic is bludgeoning his way to victory. strangely enough i like this sort of tennis. reaction speed of karlovic's opponents are tested to the utmost.

while karlovic may just be a serve machine, it's interesting how hard he hits the ball, where he places it, and how his opponents react. i like watching him.

Holy ****,those are some ridicilous stats.

Still,Tsonga up 4-1 in second set tiebreak.
2nd set is over

Karlovic is serving 78% first serves
27 aces, 2 doubles
130 MPH first serve avg
114 MPH second serve avg
139 MPH fastest serve

A BEAST.

Tsonga is basically guessing at serve returns. When he guesses right, he's got a 50-50 chance of winning the point; when he guesses wrong, he gets aced.

This is good enough to give him a point or two on return-of-serve in a tiebreak.

Good plays by him. More players should probably play that way against Ivo.

Um, I think that is how everyone plays him.

can't even see tsonga when he's returning b/c he's so far behind the baseline and into the doubles ally

2 big forehand returns, a drop shot return off the frame and a good net point. He earnt that one.

Then it will end.

Then Ivo will get broken eventually.

He doesn't do so well in fifth sets. His serve is still good, but his baseline game suffers because of his movement which gets just a tad slower... and since he can't just serve his way to a tiebreak and get one lucky minibreak, he tends to do worse in 5th sets.

Doesn't look like much fun for Tsonga returning serve. Karlovic is playing pretty good at net too. Tsonga looking despondent.

I knew I should have put Ivo down as the winner in the prediction league contest. I put him down to win in MTF, but not here. Oh well.

Maybe. Tsonga seems more obvious about it than most... I don't remember players so consistently being seen moving the wrong way as Karlovic *misses* a serve. But perhaps they do and I just don't see it as well.

is Ivo in federer's half of the draw and what is the H2H between them? If he's in murray's give me H2H too.

If Karlovic wins, he plays Verdasco (or Montanes).

If Karlovic wins that, he plays Federer in the QF (or Soderling). Federer's record against Karlovic is 8-1, with the lone win coming on hardcourts last year.

haha, 31 straight points with the serve till the returner won one xD

this is a great match, i'm really enjoying it. just got my results, not my finest hour, and it's therapeutic to watch these guys smack seven bells of **** out of the ball.

It`s really tough for any player to break Karlovic especially when his first serve is on.Every player pretty much hopes to get 1 or 2 points from him in the tiebreaker to beat him.
