Its hard to go against Mo Rivera. The guy has mastered one pitch and throws only that pitch yet nobody can adjust and he still guys out with ease. He isnt as coddled as these modern guys either, he throws more than 1 inning sometimes.

But I like Goose Gassage he looked meaner and threw harder so Ill go with the goose.

I was down with TFM's Bobby Savoy and the Savoy Special. He helped Roy Hobbs invent the modern scoreboard. :)

Manager is tough; as a Dodgers fan, I love Walter Alston, but objectively I think Sparky was just a wee bit better. I always thought Tommy Lasorda was overrated; he talked a good game and he loved the Dodgers, but he lost some games, pennants and Series he should have won.

Whitey Herzog wasn't too shabby, either, and I obviously like Joe Torre (now), but if you put my feet to the branding iron, I have to put Tony LaRusa at the top of the ladder. He's won World Series with American League and National League teams. He's won with power, with pitching, with defense, with speed. Bottom line: he's won...and won...and won.

And he will always have a special place in my heart for letting Eck pitch to Kirk Gibson with first base open in the '88 Series:

P.S. Great call on the Hammer. I didn't know that. He gives Bobby Savoy a run for his money.

oh man, tough lost. i cant give you any advice cause i suck but kudos to you for sticking with your game and working on it.

and i want you to win. i think you're a cool guy. the only person i want to lose is tfm. i want someone to bagel him in dress shoes and jeans. :)

tx ppl, but my inability to change styles is just me being stubborn.
but i guess James Blake only knows how to play 1 way too..
i just wish i could trust my slice shots/net play/scrambling mode more
to use it when needed. i looked like a dope out there hitting everything long and not being able to adjust.

but my serve needed work, and i had been getting away with it until the past 2 weeks. i just have to put the time in to fix it.
too many doubles, not enough spin. i think i have a solution.. just gotta
keep hittin buckets of balls.

anyone wanna hit tonight (after 7pm) ? i'll come out to you provided you have a lighted tennis court and we don't have to wait behind 100 other dweebs who watched the wimbledon finals and think they gotta bust out their racquets and ratty flat balls. maybe even a mini-meet and some round robin singles? anyone? bueller?

sappy -- i don't believe you when you say that you have courts by you that are lit. plus i am worried that zapvor might show up and wanna hit with us and not have a racquet to hit with (with strings anyway) and want to use one of my super cool banana yellow yonex mofos.

sup, forgot to thank you for driving up to rockville yesterday. i know tysons would have been closer for you but as soon as jrs said "pho," it was like my stomach took over the driving and i was on 495 before i could even call you back...i blame my decepticon-lookalike haircut (not fishing here, x: my stylist was very up-front about his inspiration...i have the pointy bangs and everything!).

i lived up to my court rat reputation today and played doubles in the morning, and singles in the afternoon. and i won everything! my double faults were minimal and i charged the net at every opportunity. most of time i was my usual spastic, knock-kneed, ball-dodging self, but the important thing was that i managed to make myself approach the net, which was a feat in and of itself. maybe in another year or two, i'll work on actually winning points on a regular basis from the net.

JRprostaf -- ahh. that makes sense. no problem but you missed out on 2 opportunities to witness my special brand of TFM tennis. it's spectacular and amazing all at the same time. it's spamazing.

Xisbum -- sappy has it right. my sperms is pretty much useless. my damn redonkulously good looking kids look NOTHING like me. i mean in the sense that they are asian i guess they look like me. but in the sense that other asians would never think they're my kids - they look NOTHING like me. fortunately for scientific purposes, i have probably an entire village of illegitimate TFM juniors in china, malaysia, thailand and hilly remote regions of sardinia.

alice301 -- you make shakespeare look so enticing. i'm intrigued that there is girl on girl making of the beast with two backs.
