Federer is closing in on his own record of ten. He now has six already.

Jack Crawford had a streak of 7 in the 1930's. Budge and Federer's current streak are tied for third at 6 consecutive finals.

Graf's streak of 13 is by far the best among women. I haven't found any player, male or female, who is close to Federer's record of making 16 out of 17 consecutive finals.

Interesting that suddenly Federer is being downgraded by comparing his records to pre Open Era records. I don't recall Sampras fans ever doing this with their hero.

Can you explain? Federer's streak is not being and cannot be downgraded because it is the ALL TIME RECORD.

That's amazing. Thanks for the replies. Imagine if he hadn't blown the semi to Djoker. And whether he had mono or not, he certainly had food poisoning a week before that Slam and lost six pounds...

3rd best is Laver/Agassi with 4 in a row.

Lendl also had 4 in a row '85 USO through '86 USO as the AO was not held in '86 and was one round short of reaching 8 in a row '85 USO through '87 USO when he was denied in the '87 AO SF by Edberg (the titleist) 9-7 in the fifth.

And still his fans want him to beat Nadal and the Murray's, all these records won't suffice, I guess....

What is most amazing is, he is able to be both on 1st AND second place of the open era. Talk about consistency, noone comes remotely close.

There is no point in being a fan unless you hope your team wins all the time. I don't expect him to win all the time but I sure hope he does. Same with all my teams I support in various other sports.
