I don't think it is physically possible for someone like that to make the pro circuit. They are the 2 worst shots of tennis.

I dont think Federer would have half his titles without that single handed backhand. Nadal would still beat Federer I think even if he played two handed because Federer wouldnt have as good as slice and that's his go to shot to set up points nicely.

Yeah, that seems to be the way some people think on this board.
Example: "I can't hit a 1HBH well so therefore the 1HBH sucks."
They never say: "I can't hit a 1HBH well because I suck."
They blame the stroke instead of their own inability to master it. Sad. Real sad.

The one handed backhand is almost the only reason I play tennis.
There's nothing quite as satisfying as leaning in and uncoiling into a cross court backhand winner.
My second favorite shot in tennis is the heavy, slow kick serve wide on the ad side.

There's nothing like ripping a flat or topspin 1HBH crosscourt or down-the-line for a clean winner. The feeling is tremendous. Even slice backhands feel great. I'll even sometimes run around my forehand to hit 1HBH's because I love the way it feels so much.
BTW, ripping inside-out crosscourt 1HBH's are great, too.

Yeah but come on, I'm sure people with two handers love to hit winners too. I'm pretty sure everyone does. That doesn't mean its the most effective..

It's not the fact that it's a winner. It's the FEEL you get when you hit a 1HBH that you don't get when you hit a 2HBH. Only people who have good 1HBH's will understand this.

in some circunstances, like backhand slice any 2hbh will go with 1hbh, 2hfh, would be interesting to watch.

As a junior I switched often between the 2H and 1HBH. It was later in my teens that I found the 1HBH to be harder to read for my opponent, and in all honesty easier to hit.. It often gave me more options, as it does even today... I hit it better at 35 now, than when I was 16-17.. And harder.. It is a more consistent and reliable shot for me..

i dont know man, the drop shot bouncing back over the net can be a serious rival to the 1HBH winner in terms of pure awesomeness
the 1HBH is much more fun, I agree... but I use 2hbh because it's more effective for me
i like to hit 1HBH passing shots though

There is nothing better than hitting a single-handed, running stretch flick backhand past your opponent at the net. Its the shot I savior the most.
