where is she. She plays and wins the USO and now she is missing in action. Why can't the women consistantly play tournaments?
Why can't people use Google to actually learn how to spell the names correctly of the players they are complaining about?

The OP is right about the name.In Dutch or Flemish y=ij,thus Clijsters=Clysters.
About her "missing in action",she said she 'll play a limited schedule. As another member pointed it out,she has a family to take care of.

Her sister is also having a baby round about now and its also her grandad's 85th birthday also around this time she said in an interview after the open. She didn't want to miss the birth and she also wanted to celebrate with her grandad, she missed his 80th due to playing on tour, and said she doesn't ever want to miss his bday again. On top of raising a baby.

Tennis is not her only focus in life now, which is a good thing. She seems to have adopted a Williams style approach to tour now, not becoming a slave to it, which is great. This will help her in the long run IMO with peaking for slams, motivation and preventing injuries etc.

..Seriously lets break this down.

Kim Clijsters was a top women on the tour in a far tougher period. She had kids got married and took some time off. Women have come off the tour and come back on and been able to get back to the top of the tour. She is 26 still in the prime age for a women. She had been getting ready to come back for a while and had been playing exos and came back playing tournaments. She went on a hot streak in the US Open..it was like a dream come true for her. She finally was playing and had nothing to lose, there wasn't pressure on her and everyone was rooting for her. People wanted to see her win, for once it wasn't prime Serena, prime Venus or prime Henin standing in her way. Don't get me wrong women's tennis is definitely not what it was from 02-07, but lets be real it was going to happen eventually. The current women are just showing that they are flakes, but lets face it women's tennis doesn't suck. The rankings just don't reflect the true level of skill. The women aren't dedicated 24/7 to the tour and thats their own wish. Serena has no intention on playing her heart out in the small tournaments anymore. Lets be real Clijsters coming back and winning one slam still means nothing to her. Serena loses to her again well that might be a different story, but frankly what the tour needs is one of the other women to step up. Jankovic and Safina are not the answer. Ivanovic is not the answer. The answer needs to be someone completely different. Wozniacki had her chance and failed. It's similar to the mens tour from 98-02 right now..the dominant force is missing at the moment. Women's tennis doesn't stink, just the best women don't show up every week.

Well actually he's not, pronounced the same but not written the same, it is Clijsters NOT Clysters, there is a big difference in IJ and Y although pronounced the same.

For intance: ice is "ijs" in Dutch, not "ys".

Just wanne set this straight ;-)
