Andre now admits separate amphetamine use

There is so much trash in this post that it's hard to know where to begin!
About the Spanish list, there is not a single clue or indication of any sort that Nadal was ever on that list. He had never consulted and was not linked in any way to that doctor.
Rafa did complain a lot about his knees before, during and after the pre-Wimbledon exhos.
The only one with a suspicion of doping hanging over his head at RG is Soderling because of the missed test.
Nadal did NOT practise while recovering. That is complete bull. He practised a little before W because he had hopes he would be able to play (but he didn't play at all for 2 weeks after he lost at RG), he didn't play for weeks from the moment he gave up playing W. Get your facts straight because you're downright lying about this.
It is also complete bull that tendinitis should terminate one's career. Even Roddick testified that it's a problem one can manage. Overuse is the worst enemy of tendinitis though. Roddick has never won 5 tournaments in 5 months including 1 slam 3 masters, 1 500 and 2 other finals. It's the amount of playing that did Rafa in this year but any doctor will tell you one can overcome tendinitis with rest. It is NOT and has never been a career threatening injury.
About not winning, it takes time to come back after injury (and Rafa contracted a stomach tear probably from trying to spare his knees wile serving). Also Rafa had long title droughts before, especially in the second part of the season, very usual pattern for him. Hum, what tournaments has Fed won between Basel 2008 and Madrid 2009? That's a long title drought. Thanks for letting me know it has everything to do with doping and nothing with bad form.
You say "Federer has always peaked when he needed to", that would be a damning argument in favor of Fed's doping. How could you possibly always be at your best when you WANT to be unless you dope? This is actually the best argument to exonerate Rafa of any cheating. If he was doping, don't you think he would make sure he is at his peak during RG/W? Of course he would! The fact that the timing for his lowest form of the year was SO disastrous to his ranking and his career in general is the most convincing proof that there was no foulplay involved. Even a simpleton would understand that... but why do I feel that I'm overestimating you already :???:

Absolutely beautiful summation. I think everything's covered in this.

Well said. With a dad like his, Andre is lucky he didn't end up as a serial killer!
I think he managed his life pretty well, considering. Despite the meth, he should be proud of himself for somehow making it through with honors.
(Wow I almost forgot this was a thread about Agassi with all those rambling rants about Nadal!)

ninman, here's what we have:

Agassi admitted he lied, and on more than one occasion. In fact, he seems to actually flaunt it, imo.

Nadal has one muscular arm and is the same body weight as Federer.

Gasquet claims he's innocent. I don't know, and can't speculate on that.

But, maybe that's the difference. I'm not speculating. I'm dealing with cold, hard facts, not wishful thinking. It's irresponsible to smear someone's name without proof...or remorse.

And for those who call others who judge Agassi hypocritical and in the next breath align themselves with this kind of nonsense,...well.

Anyway, it's doubtful we'll agree on anything.

Absolutely beautiful summation. I think everything's covered in this.

how cute. now lets hear you two agree like that on the subject of this thread... Agassi? liar and criminal or a gentleman and a legend...?

ps: something tells me you two have not debated this whole agassi thing...

So Sampras is still the Goat as Sampras should be awarded a few of those slams that he lost v Agassi when Agassi took drugs to cheat.

Don't be confused. Veroniquem and I are two different people with totally different views on some issues. Are we supposed to agree on everything? Band together? Uphold each other's positions? On everything? Really? Now I'm confused.

That would be cute, but in a grown up world it's much better to respect each other without feeling the need to join a clique or try to gain acceptance.

I have much respect for Veroniquem, but we're both very intelligent, (that's right, blowing my own horn), respectful and mature posters who understand that this is tennis, and not life or death.

Gosh, you're funny. You really were confused that we have different brains? That's hilarious!

by the way that this has gone, if the las vegas cops got to interrogate agassi, he would confess to a number of unsolved killings there too

He continued to use drugs after 1997.

Obviously if you could prove this you would have gave a link for evidence. Without sufficient evidence your theory is ludicrus. I think you also might be abit angry that Sampras' record has been broken and you clearly haven't moved on from that.

you do? no one would tell...

Why not?

She's an Agassi fan; I was a Sampras fan.

She's an Ivanovic fan; I'm a Jankovic fan.

I don't think she's a Serena fan, I am.

We both like Rafa...

Is that what confused you and made you think we both shared the same brain?

It's kind of ironic though, because here I was thinking how much you and that other guy mimic each other=share the same brain:).

It is to funny how some of the fed lovers are so obsessed with nadal cheating with some kind of doping. It must really crush them how nadal has taken their hero to the wood shed so many times. But it definitely boarders on weird when they are literally praying for him to get busted.

As far as agassi i must say it is pretty bad when his father is giving him speed for a match+ not even telling him what it is.But as far as agassi using on his own it is not that big of a deal.

It was not that long ago that pro players took steroids all the time with no repercussions.I remember bill walsh coach for the 49's said he had no problem with a player using steroids. Many years in baseball players used speed, i remember pete rose saying that he took it during the grind of the season.Nothing happened in those days it was no big deal.

For years you have been able to buy energy pills at gas stations that are just like speed. This stuff may help some but it can also take away from your ability by making you to jittery.

So agassi did a little speed during his career, big frigging deal. It makes me wonder what world a lot of you dogooders grew up in!!!!!!!!!!!

I think never before from the Tennis world have we gotten a bunch of poseurs like we've gotten in the aftermath of the Agassi "confession" to using Meth. The Royal Poseur award goes to Navratilova, who compared Agassi to Roger Clemens. Well.

I was a Navratilova fan when it wasn't in vogue, when she played the role of the villain opposite the people's hero, Chris Evert. I could care less that she is gay, and I felt for her given her tortured career. I admired her work ethic and intellect.

No more.

It wasn't just the Agassi comment. She's been chipping away at respectability for a while now. Now she's put the nail in it.

Observe:

1) the details revealed of her private life don't reveal a giving considerate person, she apparently discarded her last partner like trash

2) in recent years, observing her combative commentary on the air, it's really grated on me. It's not that she's not entitled to her opinion, it's just that she's frequently dismissive of her broadcast partners (maybe like her private life partners)

3) now, the Agassi comment

Out of left field. Makes you wonder what kind of relationship was there beforehand that she so quickly took the opportunity to pounce.

Comparing Agassi to Clemens ? Lets see, she fails the intellect test there.
Clemens was a starting pitcher when he took performance enhancing drugs, and that is alleged. Agassi ? Out of the top 100, the drug he took wouldn't help him crush any backhands, far from it. I wonder if Agassi's religious beliefs are what is at the heart of this attack.

I'm done with Navratilova. She's an aging, self-absorbed poseur

Outstanding X 750! I couldn't have stated it any better myself, tlm!

Years of frustration at their hero, Federer, being taken to the 'wood shed' by Nadal has got to show at some point!

Eufemiano Fuentes told Cadena Ser radio: "I'm angry about the whole matter. I've worked with other sports; tennis, football and athletics. There are a lot of names that haven't come out."

Yeah because Doctor Fuentes has reason to lie right?

And we should just believe the Spanish anti-doping authorities right!? Because they would turn in their national hero Rafael Nadal right?

He also said the filtration has been "selective"...

The Fuentes case is quite interesting. There is actually evidence of him working with footballers and track athletes. I have read old articles in the spanish media where he talks about enhancing the performance of spanish athletes using medical procedures that do not show up in doping tests. It goes on to say he was a member of the spanish olympic committee and an official doctor of the spanish athletic federation. He was also the club doctor of a couple of professional soccer clubs.

That case was handled really poorly by the authorities. Half the blood-bags seized disappeared, funds were cut and investigators were not allowed to access EF's computer. There is a german documentary called "blut und spiele" in which an investigator claims they were told they could only investigate cycling.

The team doctor of Francaise des jeaux, Gérard Guillame stated "It's now clear to everyone but the Spanish authorities that Spain is the headquarters of doping in Europe, for every sport."

But he obviously hasn't heard of Humanplasma in Vienna...

Nadal is not the only one with big muscles. In fact, there are guys like Monfils that have even bigger guns. Stosur, Serena, Roddick, Dementieva, Hewitt, Verdasco, Safina all are very muscular.
But just because you don't have muscles, doesn't mean you're not doping.
Guys like Simon or Davydenko, who can play for hours without getting tired and without having a great phisique are just as suspicious as Rafa is.

Why? Having a "great physique" is bad for your running economy.

Says who??

He said he used meth for a year. 1998 is after 1997, no? Also look at him, you dont see alot of meth users bulking up while doing it. He made physical improvements at the begining of the steroid era on meth? Ok...

How did he get off the meth anyways, i thought it was highly addictive? Did he undergo treatment during his run in 1998? A few logical pieces are still missing from this story. You dont just quit.
