What a brooooooo, that pumps me up. Perhaps Quiksilver will take this opportunity to grab Verdasco in the future. So far, Phillipuosas is the only pro I've ever seen wear Quiksilver match gear.

Its not a big deal, he is sponsored by Adiads on court and for a few other things. Quicksilver arnt seen as much of a tennis brand, this is fine and not a breach

I don't think players' contracts require them to wear the brand wherever they go. He appears not to be on the court in this instance.

You're right, they don't extend to everywhere. But they do to the court (obviously) and then also any interview or advertisement that is tennis related. For example a post match interview, yes, but a chat show, no. Each players is slightly different but it's always something like that.

Maybe Adidas owns Quicksilver? If it doesn't then I suggest that they do buy a surf brand as it makes good business sense: caps, shorts, tees and footwear. This is Adidas' core business as well.

He's going for the chill look. Have you ever watched Verdasco's No Strings on Tennis Channel? His drawers are full of surfer company/west coast clothes like Hollister, etc. So that's his look. Can you blame the guy though? You can't walk around looking super clean all the time. Sometimes you just wanna look and be comfortable...

I think it was just an accident. At our level, a contract with any clothing company seems like the world. These guys would have been sponsored since they were early teens and most simply just do not see the value of it. I think he would be allowed to wear Quiksilver away from tennis, this was just an oversight and bimbo moment.

When away from the court? You might not be aware that there are clauses in most pro apparel contracts about being photographed in their stuff and not in a competitor's stuff. Maybe Quicksilver falls through the cracks. Maybe that's what you meant.

Now, I'm not sure where this pic is from....maybe it's just a friendly...a candid or whatever.

"Can u make me the favor to change that pic? It just cause i have the quicksilver cap and i dnt want to have problems with Adidas! Thx a lot!"


I had the pic in the OP of this thread as my avatar on twitter, and i've changed it now.

Pretty weird, I don't get why Verdasco is even wearing the cap in the first place. :confused:

I can take a screen shot if no one believes me.
