Anyone try Big Hitter Blue Rough? Seems like RSI gave it very high ratings and it's supposed to generate insane spin.

Ooooooh! I'm tempted to try. So many strings, not enough time or rackets.

JRs, I thought you were done with polys! Anyway, I think a teammate of mine tried a few sets of the UBHBR and thought is was pretty good. There are plenty of good polys out there though. Some play better with certain frames than others, that's all.

I am - but that doesn't mean I'm not tempted from time to time.

Actually, I had a real good hit with the gut hybrid last night. I was painting the lines in our game of 21. LOL!

Very nice! It always feels so good on those nights. For a non-poly set up, I've always thought that gut hybrid feels pretty solid and almost poly like control.

It's ok. Tried it in the summer hoping it would be a good feel, good tension maintenance, and good spin poly option. It started out not too bad, but then got worse, and actually gave me an inconsistent amount of spin. But I believe it held tension well. Just didn't have great feel nor spin. Would never play with it again to be honest.

auzzie you got a recommendation for a good tension holding poly with good to great spin? not a full job. hybrid.

sweet... let me know when REI has them on clearance.

i don't like hearing HW talking about "penetrating skulls"! ewwww
necrophiliac alert!

im ready for camping dood. i pretty much have all the gear now,
except i could use a shovel/tent mallet/beheading device!

i was thinking the "combat tomahawk" would be a nice camping accessory.
my neighbor won't stop buying kabars and kukris, etc. so right now
his lethal capabilities far outweigh mine but if he sees me swingin dual
combat tomahawks in the backyard, he won't park his car so close to mine anymore!

geez, i thought i wouldn't be doing this, but i am looking at other racquets after hitting with Auz last night. i probably shouldn't make a rash decision since i was playing with 8month old poly string, but it just "feels" like krap.
(maybe the 380swingweight didn't help either.. took the extra 10grams off and it definitely swung easier)
the grip shape of the head racquet also bugs me in 3/8. maybe 1/2 would be better since i like the way my broken flexpoint prestige feels.. weird.

i'm wondering if i should purchase a prestige or rdis or something in between... like the TFlash315/Tfight320 or Head Prestige,IG Speed... geez i dunno. i've definitely had good days with tweeners and players sticks... so i guess first step is to restring the XxXtremes and maybe get some demos during my vacation.

dats -- you got the youtek extreme mp or the pro version? i know i'm a notorious racquet switcher but i've been converted. i'm a born again - single faith - single racquet man now. sure i'm tempted to try other racquets now and then. especially the young sexy ones. but i now appreciate opening up my bag and pulling out old faithful. dance with the one that brung you.

monkey - i am using the youtek Xtreme mp, but i have silicone in the handle and lead under the bumper so it is more like a homemade pro version.
since it is almost 12oz, i feel like sometimes i should just use a prestige anyway...
fark, it is nice to not have to think about what racquet to use.

and now the new yonex line is coming out... oh no, i am skrewed !!!!

sap- i can play saturday! werd

ooh. new yonex toys. like the candy cane color schemes too. v-core 98D looks nice to me. super tweener. but i will not be swayed to cheat.

don't switch just yet dats. i think you just need to hit more. you have such a complex game that you need to log lots of hours to hone your game to a sharp edge.

just changed the balance of my XxXtremes from 11.7and 4pts HH to 11.9 and around 6pts HL
maybe they will feel better? dunno, but lead and silicone are cheaper than new racquets!

----
update!
---
took new and improved "super XxXtremo" out and tried some serves. i think i will like the head light balance. will do wonders for my complex game! unfortunately, in my hurry to test the new setup, i smacked the racquet on my screen door and it now has a chip. FARK!
oh wellzer. FH and BH might be a little whippy if i had to play now, but hopefully i can retune those strokes in warmer weather. i swear some of my serves might have had a little kick! <<shock>>

I ahve often time thought of changin the balance of my sticks. But they bee ot heavy I think. the 12pts HL that I have is probably the only reason I can wield the clubs.

HW, I would agree that 10 points minimum would be required on your 13 ounce 27.25 sticks, otherwise they would most likely be a bit too slow with a swing weight of over 360. So at 12 points HL, my guess is that it's probably around 340-345 swing weight.

- I want to buy a few sets of that Gaucho and Isospeed. What's your price?

My current set is still good (Gut is moving a bit more, but its not frayed much), but I want to have a few sets in reserve.

Sappy,

Looks like Topaz can't make it this weekend. If you want to tag along this weekend with me, let me know. However, I get on the blues and blacks.

JRs, good to hear that it seems to be working pretty well for you. How many hours do you have so far on that string job?

I'll see if I have any sets of Isospeed Pro Classic left when I get home. If not, you can buy 5 or 6 sets of it for $9 from TW and you can trade me for some sets of the Gaucho. It's usually $10 if bought individually or if you buy 10 or over, it's $8 per. For the most part through different times and folks, I got my Gaucho for around $10 or $11 a set.

that'd be hot air.

i'm estimating a velocity of 70MPH (assuming slope of 0 degrees) for hwood to have that much air. which also happens to be the same velocity for a 747 during take off or marty mcfly to start his time machine
