Is Cincinnati The Best Surface Ever?

It only makes sense to have the best surface at "The Real Slam"

I was still a skeptic after the first two vids, but the third really confirmed it for me.
You'll find no cleaner bounce in the world, friends.

Yea I have quite a few different videos from there. I am going back this year and hoping to get more front row videos. A friend of mine from high school sometimes practices with the pros (atp and wta) so hopefully I can get one of those sessions uploaded this year.

Are the courts at Cincy open to the public? Look like all the blue hardcourts we have locally, nearly 100. All are different, depends on how abrasive the coating is.

No they aren't open to the public. I think they may hold some HS tournaments there at times though. Someone said one of the HS teams play there but he didn't know which one(s) did. It's next to a golf course and since that tournament is holding a men and women's tournament at the same time they've expanded the facility and added more courts. A really nice place. However, it is hot (100 degrees +) and humid the time of the year they play and it is miserable to try and stay all day.

They also hold some USTA and open tournaments there as well. I really like Cincy since they have kept the quicker surface while everything slows down.

I think there are way too many thinkers and philosophers on this forum :D

I think we should put this question up to Sir Rafa. Does he enjoy playing and winning at Cincy ? How is the crowd support and the fans ? Is it a good surface for hitting topspin shots to certain people's backhands ? Has the surface remained consistent over the years? The #1 should answer this question.

Wish our state playoffs were held there. Always held at the Queen City TC when Ohio Valley hosts in Ohio. Sometimes Charleston WV hosts. Best be a traveling man come playoffs.

Umm, it's a hardcourt. All good hardcourts have consistent bounce, they can be medium slow to fast paced, the can be blue, red, green, etc..., they're the same size as a clay and grass court, they tend to be slower than carpet, etc... Seriously, there's nothing special about these courts.

How'd you do that? (I am not doubting you, just wondering). Like, did you just jog over there and see no one around? My parents live 5 min away from the courts, and this summer I may have to give it a go if you lend me your knowledge. It would be unbelievable if I were able to sneak onto any showcourt.

I don't know the complex well, but it was one of the side-courts in one of the obscure parts of the center, so it was easy to get on. I was only there for 5 min, just to say that I had hit at the Cincy tourny. :twisted:

I'm not getting the love for these courts. Any decent HC has a good bounce, and these are no better in that regard. As for speed they are pretty slick, I play on some indoor HC that are pretty similar at present, mainly because the ones I play on are in serious need of resurfacing. IMHO this is too quick for a HC. I much prefer a very gritty surface. Spin from the ball takes to the courts much better and also footing is better with a more gritty court.

I have to say that this is all subjective as we all like something different. I for example hate the skidding a low bounce of grass and really like a red clay court.

Gotcha, I'll probably give it a go, and if I am caught I'll just pretend I am an Italian player and got to the tournament too late, haha.

This just prove Rogi sexy best class wins the best surface hands down while the plebian field in the ATP cannot subdue the dominant of the GOATing Roger, with serious Paul and fair Mirka in his box and the Real Slam perfect bounce surface under his feet with golden flecked Wilson tour 90 in hand Roger is forever the King of Cincy best surface class.

We played the district level of the high school State tournament there two years ago, it was nice and definitely they have a good feel to them (feel like an indoor type bounce) even if I personally lost my first match there :neutral:
