More Impressive Achievement

If Federer wins Wimbledon, he will tie Pete Sampras' record of 7 Wimbledons. This will mean that Federer is tied for the most Championships at three different Grand Slams (Australian, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open)

If Nadal wins Wimbledon, he will tie Bjorn Borg for most years (3) of winning the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year.

What do you think is the more impressive achievement?

I think you mean Nadal in that one.

Borg's channel slam (x3) was more impressive to me than either of Nadal or Federer's channel slams, due to the greater surface disparity back then. That said, what Nadal has accomplished (channel slam x2) is already very laudable.

Being tied for most Championships at three different majors is a bit more impressive for me, though.

He has also the record in the world tour finals - 5

So if he wins another Wimbledon I'd say he is way ahead. That would make him having the record in 4 out of the 5 top events!

Achieving either of them is extremely hard and requires a special Athlete. Nadal and Federer fit that bill.

Purely between these two achievements, I would say 7 wimbledon is more impressive simply because doing it for 7 yrs isnt easy.

by no means i am implying what Nadal might achieve is easy (3 times channel slam) . It is just as tough.

I picked Federer's simply due to the longer time frame. it is hard to sustain excellence for that long.

Imagine How Many Channel Slams Borg Would Have if not for WTT!

IIRC, Borg was not allowed to play FO at least two of the five years he won Wimby.

Leader in 4/5 top events with 7th Wimb. and its not close. Fed's records already are untouchable this is like putting a cherry on top. Besides just owning the number of wins in slams, if you want to really be blown away. Check the individual surface winning percentages in their career and in slams. Fed leader in open era again 2/3 surfaces and in 2/4 slams(3rd in AO).
