Time to ask again: Who's the best up-and-comer on tour?

I think considering the recent success of many of the younger, talented players on tour, it's time we take a new vote on who you think will have the most success in the next 2-3 years. Below are the candidates and some year-to-date stats on each:

Ryan Harrison:

Note I didn't put Del Potro, Cilic on this list because they're a few years older and have already proven themselves, mostly. I realize Del Potro would be the obvious choice .

Cilic & Delpo are virtual contemporaries of Dog, born within two or three months of each other. Nishi is only a year younger. None are "brand spanking new" to the pro game. Of the three younger players mentioned, I think Tomic has the bigger upside. He had great results for a teenager this year and can only get better as his body (and mind) matures. Majors are possible from this young Aussie.

I picked Raonic as a Canadian fan. I really like Dog's style, but I mean if Milos gets back going again, hard to argue against the big servers.

Tomic will be the next great, along with Raonic.

I chose Tomic over Raonic because of movement issues. If Raonic is willing to put the hard time into improving that aspect of his game, he will challenge for the next decade and I will be very happily impressed.

I would agree. I think Tomic has all the tools, but IMO I have seen him quit - mentally that is. I know he is young and that is fixable, but that is something I don`t like to see.

Yeah, too many peaks & valleys in his matches right now but he and the coaches can iron it out. After all, isn't this his first full year on tour? At his age, I was having issues just getting to classes on my college campus.

Fair enough, I was generalizing.

That could end up being the key, good point. I've always liked the demeanor of Raonic and Nishikori, very calm and collected. Harrison loses it sometimes but at least he's a fighter.

by pure talent, i'd say dimitrov.

by results, tomic. but thats only because tomic has a height advantage and thus can generate more power. nothing about tomic's game impresses me. his movement makes watching him play a nightmare.

All of them are extremely except Dog is slightly ahead, and Nish is slightlt behind. The other 4 are very close in terms of talent, but IMO Tomic is the front runner, after his Wimbledon run.

Jack Sock. Already won a major.

The rest will do well, but they will be the best of the bunch.

so delpo and cilic are 2month older than him so i guess they should be on the list too lol

The 1993-1994 generation is very good, expect some of those guys to make a step foreward in 3-4 years.

Til then, more of Nadal and Djokovic.

There has to be a cut off point somewhere. Anyway Dolgo is far newer than Del Potro and Cilic.

I don't think any of them are going to make us forget the present top four. All have serious deficiencies. Raonic may be finished to some extent because of deciding to go under the knife. Most hip surgeries result in the hip never feeling the same again.

I would have said Raonic, but after hip surgery, well, no athlete has ever looked the same after that.

Nishikori, Raonic and Tomic have had pretty successful careers. The rest, not so much…
