I know Isospeed makes both strings, but is there a difference in performance between the RIP and say the control/professional classic or new version either one???
Just trying to find out why the price difference...
I use RIP Control. I never tried Isospeed. I can definitely tell you, though, there are major differences between the two. Look at the structure:
This is RIP Control:
This is Isospeed Control:
The polyolefin ribbon is helically wrapped around RIP Control, kind of like a spaghetti string. With Isospeed Control, it is a homogenous wrap included in the main structure.
RIP Control has a rather stiff/harsh feel, though it's still quite comfortable to the arm. It has very little elongation. It maintains tension better than any other string I've tested.
Other reviewers have commented on the softness of the Isospeed strings, and they have a reputation for losing tension.
