Huge fans of Nadal.....and Agassi.....but I dont think They ever seperated themselves to the point that someone would say.....'Wow.....they left Pete-Courier.......Federer-Djokovic in the dust.......

I listed Djoker off of his year last year.....his multiple Grand Slams......His over all Record.....his his head to head record vs his 2 rivals. This is the shakiest of my selections.......

i think i agree. djokovic's 2011 was better than any of the best years from edberg, becker or courier. connors, borg and wilander also had years where they were clearly number one over the field. but i think djokovic 2011 edges them all just a bit because of the output of 3 slams, the overall w-l record and the h2h against his rivals.

the problem with nadal is that he never starts and finishes the year well. even his best year 2010, he retired in australia and fizzled out as usual in the yec. i think overall, djokovic's 2011 slightly surpasses nadal's 2010. agassi 1999 was also great but he still lost more matches than djokovic 2011 and i think sampras still owned him head to head that year.

you could add court in the late 60's-early 70s (if you wanna go back that far), evert in the mid 70s and henin 2007

Connors and Borg on the men's side. Chris Evert on the women's slide. Connors in 74 left no doubt, and I think the same could be said in 76 and 82. Evert dominated women's tennis from 75-78 and reigned supreme. Borg was clearly the top player in 79 and 80.

I think maybe Becker in 89 and Edberg in 91 are good choices too.

I would have to say lates 70s Borg, even though he wasn't successful at the US Open. Once he started beating Jimmy Connors, and before McEnroe, there was no question he was the man.
