I know it doesnt come out till tomorrow night, but do They usually schedule the order in that the second semi is the so called best match? Or is the top half the first semi that is played?

This is important to me so i hope you can help me

I wish I knew the weekend schedule, but it's probably gonna be the usual - Nadal beats his opponent, while Fred loses to his opponent or Nadal. Not sure what time this is going to play out, sorry.

I know play starts at 1300 local. But i can probably only See the second semi so hope someone has data on the last 10 years or so

2011-2009 top half's semifinal was played first but the bottom half's semifinal was the bigger match.

2008 top half's semifinal was played second but featured a frenchman.

So most likely Djokovic-Federer will be the second match of the day, just like last year.

Where is local - Amsterdam? What is this really about? I am sure someone has data on the last 10 years - the people around here have data on Gulagong breakpoints from her 1925 matches...

The first SF must begin earlier than last year because Fed and Novak could get into troubles with dark again. Nadal won his match in straight sets last year and still, they could postpone it to the next day if Novak won 4th set.

OR They just enforce the time rule

I think the top half plays first since they got a longer time off prior to the SF. Last year was the same as well.

I don't remember Rafa having two days off after the QF last year. I think the schedule was the same as this year, even though Rafa was the top seed.

2007 Federer top seed, played second. (vs Davydenko, Nadal played Djokovic)
2006 Federer top seed, played first. (vs Nalbandian, Nadal played Ljubicic)

Edit: CMM is right too. Nadal was #1 last year and still played on the later day.

Looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow for the schedule to be released. I'm guessing Fed/Nole will be the first one, and then Nadal/Ferrer will be second up.

novak vs rogi is the match everyone wants to see, plus it'll give the winner less rest against nadal, so that has to be second, surely? ;)

Didn't they play Nole/Federer first last year? I seem to remember streaming it at work, but maybe it was second. I just remember my friends came in to watch Fed serve the ace on match point. It was pretty awesome.

How do you decide which to put on first? It is Friday daytime and neither match will be on prime time TV for France. If there was a women's, you'd put that first to allow people to come late for the main attraction.

If it was Nadal and a crap player, I would put that on first as it will be quick. Nadal and Ferrer will take ages, so I guess you'd have to put Fed Joker first. Latecomers may miss out on the start. But with a 2 pm kick off, it shouldn't be that hard to get there on time.

oh btw, while i am here just thought I'd say this...

Last year, Noel would have taken Ralph to the cleaners had he made it to the final but Sir Rodger trolled all of us.
This year, Noel is going to lose in straights if he makes it to the final and I am sure Sir Rodger is going to troll us again by letting Noel into the final

How do you decide which to put on first?

Simple. Ralph needs to straight set his minion and rest his knees for the longest time possible irrespective of whether he is #1 or #2 or #10. The other half must play their 5 setter late into the night with the possibility of it getting stretched to the next day if it gets dark so they don't have any chance of staying fresh for Sunday. This is the only logic that decides who goes first.

No, it was second. Had Nole won that fourth set, play would have been stopped for lack of light and continued the next day.

Nadal/Ferrer play first on Friday?

I read some posters comment on another forum that as per TC first semi will be Nadal vs Ferrer followed by Roger vs Novak

Play will be start at 1300 as per local time.

Nadal needs to play first, so Roger and Novak will know they must do everything in their power to lose to the other in order to avoid the a boring final.

dont really see why nadal would be first.. afaik top half of the draw is always up first at RG

IIRC last year Fed draw played first but in Fed-Nole was 2nd semifinal so nothing new.

djokovic was still #2 last year going into FO. so the fed - djoko match was the bottom half SF. and it was played 2nd

They should put Federer-Djokovic first.

Nadal and Ferrer will just grind it out for 5 hours and force Federer/Djokovic to finish on saturday......

They will put Fed-Djokovic last because that's what the spectators want to watch.

Who wants to see Nadal ? Put that during work hours.

I wonder how it will affect Roger Federer. Imagine Rafa won the match, will it prevent him from giving his 100 % against Novak?

Seriously, I really wanted a Roger Rafa semi final.. Roger could have played more freely than in a final

sigh !

With the way things are going so far, Nadal could probably swim across the Atlantic Ocean and climb Mount Everest and still straight set his opponent on sunday.

What a guy! He's just the best. Really, he is.
