Who is most likely to challenge/defeat Nole at Wimby?

you said trouble not defeat so maybe troicki definitely fed

If Fed can overcome whatever aches he is suffering to regain his movement, I think he has a chance.

Maybe a redlining Murray or Tsonga?

Nole seems to be playing fairly well right now so he'll be tough to beat.

NSK no doubt, he's gonna run on centre court, take his clothes off and do this;

Djokovic will be rushed to A&E and will never return to a tennis court again.

I don't give Federer/Murray a chance. Neither can outlast him, and neither can blast him. Tsonga is the only player who can blast him. Everything would need to go right though, or at least for 3 sets.

fed has big chance. grass is better for him than djok. lots of motivation to beat djok and no nadz waiting in the final.

hasnt looked crash hot so far but is only 1st week. has had stumbles in early rds b4 and come back to destroy all in 2nd wk.

djok is deffo fave but i put a hunjee on the swiss yday. odds were 2 good to refuse

tsonga has a chance 2

Tsonga has looked better than Djoko so far. Just a matter of who plays the big points best in the final - and that means Djoko is the favorite (he is the big points specialist). But if Tsonga is on fire in the final then there will be less "big points" because it may not be so close.

Really? You don't think Fed has a chance at all?

Federer will struggle to win a set, because grass rewards Djoko's power more than clay did. And Federer didn't win a set at Roland Garros. And Federer looked very tame yesterday, not much aggression. Its also about confidence, because Djoko is on such a big roll in their rivalry. Federer is at an all-time low with their rivalry now pegged back to 14-12.

Grass rewards variety more than power, and Fed has more of that than Djokovic. Djokovic's main strength is his return; he's not going to get as many balls back as he did at RG.

Nope. While Fed fans were gloating over Nadal losing 7 straight times to Rolaids, they were forgetting that Fed himself has lost 6 of the last 7 matches they have played, and the last 3 times they played in a slam. Fed will be fortunate to take a set.

But Wimby isn't grass anymore, though. It's really green clay especially by the second week.

Federer would have to beat Djokovic in 3, and I don't see that happening.

Sets on grass are a lot less physically demanding than sets on other surfaces. If he goes down 0-2, he's definitely in trouble, but I would say he could win if he went down 1-2.

It's slower by week two, yes, but let's go back to 2008. After getting creamed by Nadal in the FO final, Federer had breakpoints in the fifth in their Wimbledon encounter. There's still a dramatic difference between the speed of clay and second week Wimby grass - and that's not taking into account of how the ball bounces, either.

If they meet, that will be why Djokovic is the favorite. But saying Fed has no chance is silly. It took a red hot Nadal playing the tennis of his life to beat Federer here. He's gotten stunned in the QFs the last two years by Berdych (though he was injured) and by Tsonga (who was like Rosol the last three sets of that match). But Djokovic doesn't have that kind of firepower. Points will be a lot shorter and it will be harder for Nole to tire out Fed.

Federer or Murray have the best chances, but Federer moreso. I actually pick Federer for their semifinal if it happens. After that I guess Tsonga and Del Potro have an outside chance if either can get that far.

I feel Roger Federer will be more troubled by Berdych, or Tsonga or some powerful hitter. I don't think Novak or Murray will trouble him as much as they do. In US open he had match points against him last year, the year in which Novak was almost invincible. People tend to forget that Novak is not playing at his last year's level.

I think Roger will win in four. It can go either way. People who base their predictions based on the clay loss of Roger Federer to Novak this year are really being silly

So, what you're trying to say is you're backing Fed this time around, since Rafa is already out, right?
Good to know!
