Hey Kids! Got some solid info for all here...

The picture that was on twitter of Serena's hitting partner with a blade was indeed the future paint job! No more gold or pink versions :(

All I have is that the lineup stays the same minus the lite and a new 98.

Tour 93
Blade 98 (Two Versions not just cosmetic)

No word on stiffness ratings so I'm not sure if they are going back to the K Factor stiffness on the 93 and 98. I believe they reversed it for BLX correct?

Yes Amplifeel in all versions.

I add lead to my 98 in the handle at a lil at 3/9/12.

I doubt Wilson would do it as I see a TON of jr's playing this stick.

On the other hand the 93 is a sweet stick too. Just wish it had more free power on the serve.

If I could have changed one thing about the 98 it would be a heavier static weight and definitely a more headlight balance.

God I miss my tour 93. That thing was truly remarkable. I've since switched to the k90 and BLX 90 which I love a lot, but I miss the bigger headsize for some reason. Can't wait till next year. I really hope they make one with a box beam like the one Dimitrov uses.

Then it won't be called a Blade :)

I hope they make the 98 closer to the nBlade 98...

Wonder why they strayed away from the black & gold.

I was kinda diggin' it, even though I'd never switch to a blade.

I'm using the blade 98 blx version. I really like them but they are a bit too hh for me. I'm going to try to put on a lther grip for some extra weight on the handle:)

Thanks!! Good news. I think there a lot more people that may now be interested in trying the Blade with an open string pattern.

where is the weight distribution on this racquet? same for the nBlade?

If I wanted to have a neutral racquet be as close as possible in BALANCE, where would the weight probably go?

I always thought the nblade seemed a tad heavier in the 10 through 2 o'clock range.

do you have any pictures or evidence to prove this? before the blx blade was released people kept saying there was a 16x19 blade and all we received was a pink blade:???:. I hope your source is correct! i always wanted a blade with an open string pattern

Evidence is that I saw my friend play with it in person at the junior USO.

I've seen three of the new blades.

93 is a 18 X 20 and probably the nicest paint job I've seen in awile. (The new steam paint job is also a huge improvement) The 93 has a matte finish. Liked how it played, swing weight was 318 strung so should allow more users and players that want to add some weight will have some room to work. Nice Job Wilson!

The 98 is also black but in a glossy finish and does have the open and closed paint job.

Jackie: Is the beam width changing on the 98? A slightly lower swingweight on the current BLX Blade 98 would be welcome - thanks for the info!

The Beam width is really similar to the BLX Blade 98. However the shape is less squared on the the new one with a rounder contour through the throat.

The Beam of the 93 is just a little thinner than the 98 on the new ones but they are also very similar.

Any updates on a release date? I would like to check that out I've always wondered why they didn't do this before.

Monfils is using one, or atleast a pj, looks stealthy. Not sure how a tennis racquet looks stealthy but it does.

I will definitely purchase the new 93. Even if only to play with a couple of times before selling it. My blx 93 is my favorite racquet I've played with

Release date is January - and for the 98 the only change is the ampifeel and the new paint. But the frame shape and layup and specs will remain the same on the 18 x 20. My son a Wilson player and he got his in August.

Was there any offering/mention of the 16x19 version? If so, are those specs similar to the 18x20?

I hope the fix the breakage problem. My son has had three that broke in the throat near the grip. Other kids around here have had the same problem.

There were two nblades and neither was 100.

My bad...I started my "blade" run with the nCode version and could have sworn it was a 100. Either way, it was completely different than either the (k) version or the current BLX to my memory (I've owned all 3, just not at the same time...)

So the Blades are coming with an open string pattern? is it the 93 and 98?
Is the new open string pattern racket have same spec as the other blades or new specs?

Finally found something last night on 16X19 Blade 98. According to specs on throat nothing changes from previous blades. I suppose it is possible that stiffness could change. Looking forward to trying this out.

Just hope they make it softer, blx blade 98 is one of the best sticks I've swung (performance wise), but stiffer than a frying pan

I wonder why is there such a huge gap between the last cross and the frame at the bottom, same thing with the IG radical pro... what's the point of having a 16x19 if the pattern would be tight at the hitting zone anyway?

I think it still makes the racquet a little livelier, but most companies have tight patterns through the hitting zone, although some tecnifibres and yonexes are an exception.

The yt extreme had a spread out pattern whereas the current one is less so.
