T22 lover. Need recommendation for similar replacement.

My current pair of T22's are nearing the end of their life and it's time to replace them. Went to the TW site and they're out of out of my size in all colors. In fact almost all online retailers that carry them are out of my size.

I called Tennis Warehouse to see what was up and while they didn't know for sure that the shoe had been discontinued, they did say the company is doing some restructuring and it currently doesn't look like they will be getting any more T22's.

This is a real bummer for me. I have weird feet and tried four or five different shoes before I found the T22, which fits me just right and I've been using them for two years.

Anyone out there who used to be a T22 user who could point me to something with a similar fit (especially the wide toe box and low-ish arch)?

have you tried the BaY? also get court ballistecs you can pick em up for less than 60$ using those giftcards

That would really be a bummer if Prince discontinues the T22. However, I'm very happy with the Rebel LS, and I hope Prince continues the Rebel line. The toe box is not as wide as the T22's, but otherwise, the fit is similar. It's a light weight shoe with a low to the ground feel, and it's my favorite overall shoe.

I spoke to someone at Prince directly and my 6-month warranty T-22's will ship from them on Dec. 16th. Seems they were on backorder.

Not sure what Prince's plans are for the 22's going forward, but I just saw a photoshoot on facebook showing Isner playing with some custom colored t-22's. Seems like Isner is signing with Prince for 2013 - at least for racket and shoes. Not sure if he's staying with Lacoste or not.The guy at the Prince Warehouse said he is been seeing all sorts of new stuff for 2013... no details for me yet though.

If they're just on backorder, then you're in luck, but if you still can't get your hands on a pair, you could look into the T24's, which are an "updated" version of the T22's. (The T14's are a more economical version of the T24's, so that's another option as well).

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone!

As luck would have it, I dropped my racquet off for restringing yesterday and the place I go has shoes. I never noticed before because they're situated in a weird, out-of-the-way place in the store. They had 2 pairs of T22's left in my size, so I picked both of them up.

So crisis averted for at least another year... by which time, either the T22 will be back on the shelves, or I'll be trying out your suggestions.

I tried on a pair of T24's. If it's supposed to be an update, it's the worst shoe update I've ever seen. It's a completely different fit and quite uncomfortable for me. The reviews on it aren't that great either, and I can see why.

Good to know, Ramon, and thanks for the heads-up. I have no experience with them, myself (I'm currently wearing T7's), and was posting simply based on Prince's marketing. :oops:

Bump.... I also have worn my T22's to death, they're great shoes, but I just feel like switching things up. I have a very flat foot so I can't wear anything with too high an arch. Any suggestions? How are the Asics or the new air max cage?

I have very flat feet and they are a bit wide to boot. Not such that I need the wider NB shoe > but Nike, Adidas, etc. are a no go for me. Toe boxes way too narrow.

I enjoy the T22 but also wear well the NB 656 which I have two pairs of for practices and even use them for an occasional match. They are a bit less supportive but very comfortable out of the box and fit my feet well. They are pretty light too for a wider shoe. I am fine with their D standard width. If I go too wide my flat feet really have a problem. So width is tricky for me. The T22's and these 656 are perfect as to arch and width.

Thanks. I'll have to check them out. The local mall has a NB store and I think they should carry them.

used to love T22s, now wear Asics Gel Resolution 4

I loved and wore a number of successive pairs of the T-22s. When my last pair wore out, I thought I'd try something different, the then new Gel Resolution 4s. Much nicer. No break-in like the T-22s, and lower to the ground. More comfortable toebox for me too, and arch support not intrusive. After getting that pair of Asics, still bought a couple more pairs of T-22s on sale, and used a pair after the Asics wore out, but found them uncomfortable and less stable, and now that pair and one still in the box are gathering dust (anyone want a size 9?). Now my problem is that Gel Resolution 4s are discontinued...

I bought new shoes this year since I was no longer able to find the KSwiss Ultrascender anymore. I tried Joma, Babolat and Yonex. The Babolat shoes were pretty comfy but I went with the Yonex Power Fusion. I think Yonex seems to get it, we amateurs want cushioning, not "low to the ground feel" or whatever marketing BS they use to justify shaving pennies off the production cost. Their proprietary cushioning is really soft and works.

I have seriously flat feet so I need stability too. Both the Babolat Propulse and the Yonex shoes seemed plenty stable to me. Asics also seem to be a very popular choice for people looking for cushioning and stability.

Adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 (or 2018 coming soon). I know it's a basketball shoe, but no tennis shoe has full length Boost the way this shoe has! The outsole is actually perfect for clay and works fine on hardcourts, but might not be as durable as the T22.

Once you go Asics you'll never go back to Basics.

Try the Gel res 6 or 7s or the speed solution 2 or 3's both are superior to the PT22

I’ve had the Gel Res 6. It’s a better performing shoe than the T22; quicker, more stable, more responsive. However, the T22 has better impact protection. That’s the price you pay for a lighter and lower to the ground shoe. It’s fine for most younger guys, but when my knees start aching during a long match, that’s a deal killer for me.

Like this guy told you, hunt for Nike Lunar Ballistecs before it's too late (if you play on hard courts, b.c on clay Asiscs Resolution 7 might do as well).

Oh no, I only buy the heavy and clunky T22 because it has (had) a wide toe box.
The pair i bought six months ago was made in Cambodia and around 1/4 inch narrower than the ones I bought a few years ago that were made in China.

I remember those. The Cambodia T22’s felt just like the old T10’s. They were probably made on the same narrow last. I have a narrow foot, so I the only T22’s I bought were the Cambodian version. They were one of the tightest fitting shoes on the market, which was good for me. Now that they don’t make them, I don’t buy them anymore.

Are the current T22 shoes narrow or wide?
The last pair I got in 2017 hurt my feet and seemed more narrow than previous pairs?

About to order another pair of shoes. If they are still narrow then I will have to look for an alternative.
