It has been discussed. There is another thread. And most seem to think Nike either didn't make him an offer or made one low enough that they knew someone else would outbid and aren't too upsets.

The New Balance stuff actually looks really good on Milos. The Lacoste gear he was sporting made him look like a kid that outgrew his clothes, same goes for Isner.

Didn't Lacoste sponser Isner & Roddick? Correct me if wrong but Leconte and Arthur Ashe also wore Lacoste clothes.

ahhahaa, you're probably saying that because of the shirt that he is wearing! New Balance is a good brand, their shoes are excellent, but their designs and color combos are a little weird.

Arthur Ashe probably did wear some Lacoste in the late 60s, but generally wore Fred Perry before having his own brand with the red and blue A with the little spot in the middle.
Then, as an elder statesman, he wore Le Coq Sportif as did one of his young friends, Yannick Noah.
Back to Berdych, I know he was known to wear that Nike hat with the elastic parts on the side. WOnder if he'll get paintjobs of that hat when/if he switches brands.
I can see one of the Storied Italian brands picking him up. Maybe Diadora? Tacchini? Ellesse? FILA?
Or adidas, which would promulgate some of the Safin comparisons.
It'd be cool to see him wearing Topper or Auztralian...or ALBA or TTK, which seem to be popular in his part of the world (central Europe).

I swear by nike air max's (used to be called 360)
I run approx 750 miles a year and they have
helped my knees tremendously (meniscus)
New balance are fine shoes, esp. if you have a superwide foot (I am a D, so it isn't that big a deal), as are Asics (I wear gel res for tennis) bu they do not "blow nike away" imho.
Frankly, compared to the shoes of 30/40 years ago, they are almost all 100% improved. But of course they (just like racquets and golf clubs) come up with made up words to describe non improvements in technology so we will all run out and buy the latest model....

True and not true... Although NB has better colorways behind its shoes, and more "one of a kind" colorways, Nike gets the award on innovation (unless your talking about tennis).

I'm a runner. I've run in adidas, Mizunos, and Nikes. I stick with Nikes.

It doesnt look like Berdych is wearing Nike gear. His shorts are shorter than usual and the fabric of his clothing and hat (from what I can tell) doesn't look like something of Nike's calibre

Ditto. I'm also a runner and used other shoes for years - Adidas, Saucony, NB, Mizuno - but Nike have come right in recent times. They seem no worse than any other brand if you look at the better models in each range. It's more a matter of preference.
I'm a runner too, but a friend of mine is a "runner", runs marathons, triathlons, etc., and those guys, don't use any of the ones you mentioned, Brooks, Asics, NB are the ones the pros use, unless of course Nike pays them, which is where their money goes, to pay athletes and ads, not into making good running shoes.

Yeah, this is certainly the case with marathon runners I know. For the casual running that I do myself, I use Brooks or Asics. Nike shoes are too narrow for me.
