Classy match between an in-form Berdych and Djokovic who could play 20 hours and showed no visible signs of exhaustion. I pick Djokovic in 3 (6-1 6-1 6-2) obviously.

Berdych was broken several times to Anderson, witch isn't nowhere near good as Djokovic's returns are used to be.

If Djoker isn't "clean", neither are Federer, Nadal and Murray. So it's an even playing field anyway.

Will be interesting how Djoker perform in the QF.

I think Novak will up his level and win in 4.

That said, anything's possible, I think he was too passive against Stan today and his ROS was mediocre (for his high standards). He better not feed Berdych so many short balls and let him get into groove from the baseline.

Certainly another flat start can cost Djokovic. He needs to get on top early otherwise he can get involved in another long match. And still with plenty of matches left in this event it would be pretty tough to play two 5 setters and then get involved with Ferrer.
And that`s not even the final.
Playing 1 tough match and getting ready for next one shouldn`t be a problem for Djokovic. He has proven it last year. But he still needs some energy left if he gets past Berdych

I hope Djokovic gets destroyed. If he wins in ease, he's not clean.

Then, watch Djokovic win in 3 sets as if nothing happened the round before.

Right, because great tennis players never post a convincing win after a grueling 5 setter? Heck, Fed straight setted Berdman in 2008 AO after his marathon with Janko (which ended 10-8 in the 5th).

Shut up troll

I think Djok will win in 3, maybe 4. Nole have enough time to rest...

5 hours of play the round before ending in a 12-10 5th set and people still expect him to breeze through in 3 sets against a seemingly in-form Berdych.
I don't believe in superhumans.

He won't lose to Berdych, he may lose to either Federer or Murray however.

First of all that match was shorter and it Federer isn't a well-known grinder like Djokovic so he still had a lot of energy left in the tank. Djokovic is REPEATEDLY playing 5 hour matches in succession and never looks drained. Obviously I don't have any proof that he's doping but after watching some of his matches no wonder people start to question his superhuman stamina.

You're probably right, Berdman is a good match-up for him overall (on HC atleast).

Yeah, Fed and Murray must like their chances after seeing Novak being pushed to the brink like that, players smell blood right away.

They are all doping in the top ten for sure, don't be naive.

Which is offset by the fact that he had mono.

The only time he played 5 hour match in succession was 2012 AO and he had more than a day off between matches.

I want them all (including Federer if it's true) to be banned forever, then and forced to return all the trophies, prize money, we should also rename the recent years as the "banned era".

Anything can happen of course, but it is really hard to see how Berdych is going to beat Djokovic, I can't see it. Djokovic is the better player and stronger mentally. Murray or Federer have a shot at him imo.

LOL, it is not going to happen. Just let it go. If all the top guys dope it is a level playing field right?

Bingo, top 10 atleast.

No doubt in my mind. How can people honestly think that is not the case after what we have heard and read about for years in professional sports? You have to be living under a rock to think any pro sport is clean. All you have to do is listen to the guys who supplied the PED's to pro athletes who have been investigated like that guy who owned Balco, Victor Conte. He has said no pro sport is clean, not one. Not golf, not tennis, nothing.

What proof do we have that it affects everyone in the same way?

Somehow I don't imagine Federer winning a match in 5 hours and still having a chance of beating anyone in the next round so soon afterwards. Just look at the Olympics this year.

Yet at the time everyone wondered if Djokovic would recover for the final. Watch some of the commentary after Nadal won the 1st set - "this could be crucial for the match.."

There's no-one who thinks Djokovic is going to struggle against Berdych now.

In his defense the op WAS very provocative. Can you honestly say you wouldn't respond the same way if someone posted that about Fed?

Also, Wawrinka was up 5-3 30-0 serving for it in the second set and got tight and got broken. Even if he would have broken, it's not a guarantee he would have served it out.

Okay, the OP was wrong to accuse Djokovic of doping. That's uncalled for.

Federer is older now but look how well he is still doing at his age hanging in there with Djokovic and Murray. It does not make sense to say one guy is using something and his rivals are not. I am a huge Federer fan but I am not blind or stupid.

Well in the Olympics before the final everyone had to play best of 3 set matches before the final. And Federer pretty much played a 5 setter and Murray only 2 sets.
In a Grand Slam format is different.

Easy win for Djokovic. Berdych might be expecting a tired opponent but the reality is that Novak is one fo the fittest athletes in world tennis.

I've never caught a match where Berdych put up a real strong fight...not saying he hasn't had them, just that I haven't managed to watch one...so I have a hard time picturing him knocking out Novak.

There was one game late in the fifth set where Stan hit four second serves and held to love. I think Djokovic got one return back in play. He definitely can perform better than that.

Oh for Pete's sake, Fed was 30-31 at the time, who knows if Novak will even be playing at a similar age, it's a terrible comparison.

When Fed was similar age/point in career Novak is now he was a freakin machine, sure that has a lot to do with his effortless playing style, economical movement, scheduling etc. but people were wandering if he gets tired at all.

He was one good volley (makaeable one for the matter) away from being 2-0 up in sets against Nadal at the AO the year ago...and Nadal isn't neccessarily a good match-up for him.

He's had 2 wins against Federer in majors.

He beat Djokovic at Wimbledon in 2010 in straight sets.

I don't think he'll win against Djokovic but taking a set is more than possible.

I had no problem with Djokovic winning the Tour Finals in 2012 against Federer as he himself played some first-strike tennis. That was an exception, though.

I hate grinders, always have, always will. And Djokovic 90% of the time is exactly that.

So save yourself the trouble and watch the non-grinders.

I see that you edited OP :) seriously, if Djokovic is doping, then all top players do it, but we have no evidence
