Adidas Barricade 8s in 2013

So I just finished browsing through the Fall 2013 Team catalog from Adidas and I noticed that the new Barricade is set for a June 2013 release, which is quite odd seeing as how the 7s just came out last year. Is Adidas stopping the 2 year trend now?

I'd post pics but it would be against forum rules, however I would have to say they look a lot like the 7s, but with a tiny bit of added stuff. Almost like a 7+5, cosmetic wise.

Seen the shoes in person and they look quite good. We are getting 2 colour ways here - mainly black with white, silver & red, and then a mainly white with red & black trims. Don't look too bad.

The new red & blue feathers look great too.

Getting very tired of the red/blue/yellow that Adidas is giving us.

I plan on stocking up on 7s unless when I see the "actual" shoe and it does in fact look better.

Right now, that looks TERRIBLE!

barricades are better bang for your buck if you find a nice colorway then yes but they don't look as sleek as vapors imo

If anyones wondering, they're under "Adidas Utilities". Currently just in the development stages so it's a pretty bad way to tell how the real thing will be like. The heel piece looks extremely weird to me.

The heel looks "interesting" on the 8.0s in the Team catalogue. Other than that it looks relatively similar to the 7.0 with an additional colour band perpendicular to the stripes.

I just read the catalog and saw this

"Outsole: Stability claws help maintain quick cuts and fast footwork during extreme lateral movements and changes in direction."

On the bottom it states that there's adiwear 6, but it doesn't exactly specify in the outsole description about whether there's a 6-month durability guarantee. Can anyone confirm they are still doing it?

adiwear 6 is the outsole with the guarantee. Always.

Thanks, but the Barricade team also has Adiwear 6 for the outsole but doesn't come with the guarantee.

How can you tell? To me it just looks like a solid piece like how it is on the B7s right now. Mess inserts again, probably, but seems to just be a solid toe cap.

If the change is much more than cosmetic then there's no chance Murray will switch from his custom-soled 7s. Djokovic seems to love the B7s too, which are stock aside from the graphics.

I searched google for barricade 8...can't find the pics.

I hope the B8 is lower to the ground and more comfortable than the B7 out of the box (like the V9). Personally, I dont care if they last for 1000 hours of play. For $140 they should be comfortable...

Can't have best of both worlds. I've heard that nothing beats the V( in terms of comfort. But the barricade isn't the GOAT hardcourt shoe for nothing.

They're not going to drastically change it. The shoe's been around and has a dedicated following.

"Lower to the ground" in simple terms probably means less depth for cushioning. After suffering a recurring heel bruise with my Vapors, it has not been an issue since switching to the Barricade 7s. So there's at least one of us out there that likes the higher setup of the Barricade. I loved the Vapors initially, but just couldn't stay in them.

*Edit* I should have clarified that I'm referring to the Vapor 8 shoe. I haven't tried the V9, but haven't heard anybody say that it's that much different in terms of cushioning. My heel bruise was high on the back of the heel (not the bottom), and just the imagery of the B7 versus the V9 shows a lot more protection on the Barricades.**
