Yeah Cindy needs to change her views

Only Cindy can decide that. But I can appreciate her points, because I used to hold them myself. Its just that I got a much more realistic and closer look to the situation, so I changed my views.

I was just kidding. As I said before, I may stop taking the shot in a year or two.

Unfortunately, I know dozens of people who walk into hospitals and get carted out from them a few weeks later.....

3 weeks after taking my first and only flu shot (which was pushed on me by a ex-employer) I got the sicker than I have ever been in my life. Fever, body aches, couldnt hold food down for two weeks. Lost 10 lbs.

NEVER AGAIN

^^ why would you do something because an ex-employer pushed it??

Not sure if this was an attempt at humor, but presumably he was a current employer at the time.

I saw that in another thread, someone reported that his wife contracted Guillain-Barré Syndrome after getting a flu shot. Anecdotes all-- but enough to make me less than eager to get a vaccine which could (but very well might not) protect me against one winter's worth of garden-variety flu. I'm not saying the shot is a bad idea-- just that for now I'm choosing not to get one.

I'm happy to have been vaccinated for MMR, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis, typhoid, yellow fever, etc... so I don't think my not getting the flu vaccine makes me some sort of crazy vaccine denialist.

There was a scare about getting autism through vaccination. That was proved wrong. Anecdotal data is not reliable in scary health situations as people panic, and also we do not know whether it is cause/effect or coincidence.
