Has Nadal thanked Federer yet?

''Not only does Roger Federer win copious Wimbledon titles, he can also organise his fellow tennis players into a coherent lobbying force.

That successful exercise was a major contributor to the massive 40 per cent prize money increase announced on Tuesday for this summer’s Championships, which will now offer a total of £22.6million prize money to its participants.

Backed by the likes of Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, Federer, leader of the Association of Tennis Professionals’ player council, helped secure rises that will see first-round losers take home close to the national average wage of Britain.

I'm sure 128'th best in any profession around the world makes a lot more money than average wage. If it was easy we would all be in the tour :)

Lets cut these guys a break, Its a hard road filled with losers and one winner. Also most need to find a new job when they are 30.

Ha Ha..funny thread. Somehow I don't think the first round money will make much difference to Nadal. Has Federer, Nadal and other stars thanked Bjorn Borg and other past greats? Listen to this portion of the clip below, especially to Bob Kain starting at about 14:00. At about 14:00, it's Borg's former agent Bob Kain talking. He was an IMG executive (President and Co-CEO). He talks about how all the players should thank Bjorn Borg for the money they are now earning. Bjorn Rune Borg paved the way for the really big contracts and money that has flowed into the modern game, especially for the top guys.

He made the numbers in tennis go from tiny to pretty darn big. He was the real catalyst.
