US Open Series 2013- Prediction Challenge

I've participated in many of our wonderful prediction leagues, but I am completely new to making one. I was thinking how many are suffering from withdrawal from high quality Grand Slam Tennis and all the prediction making that comes along with it. So I thought of this US Open Series Prediction Challenge:

Before the first tournament, theBB&T Atlanta Open, predict who you think will win the entire US Open Series, announced before the start of the US Open. A correct pick will earn you 15 points.

Before FIRST MATCH of each tournament, predict the Winner and Runner-up. You will receive FIVE POINTS per correct finalist or TEN POINTS per player if he finishes in your predicted position. Oh yeah, if you want to change your W/RU before the tournament starts, just quote your previous post. You cannot change your overall Series winner once the Atlanta tournament begins.

At the very end we'll add up everyone's points, and the winner gets...well...the glory of winning. Maybe we can make this a yearly thing. But if anything it's a way to keep the predictions going until New York.

Good luck to everyone, in the meantime I will learn how to make a Google Doc spreadsheet (anyone's help on that would be appreciated).

If I wasn't clear, this will be for the men's tourneys: Atlanta, Washington DC, Montreal, Cincinatti, and Winston-Salem.

I'll start: overall series winner Juan Martin Del Potro

I'm voting for Juan Martin Del Potro. I don't know why, but I have a feeling he will win his first Masters title during this U.S. Open series. I think he can take Washington and make a deep run at the U.S. Open as well.

It's gonna be tough for Djoko, he has tons of points to defend this summer while Murray has zip in the 2 masters and Nadal nothing to defend at all even at USO.

Glad we got a nice little group going, there's still time for more to come! Now the Atlanta draw is out, so feel free to pick your winner and runner-up for that.
I'll say:
W- Isner
RU- Karlovic

My humble little file

Ok here are my picks for Atlanta:

W- John Isner
RU- Igor Sijsling

John has done well here before, and his draw looks pretty good. I'm afraid K. Anderson and Dr. Ivo will be a little worn out from Bogota, so I think Igor can make the final if he plays well.

Huh? Defending points has absolutely nothing to do with who will win the 2013 US Open Series. Everyone starts from scratch heading into Atlanta.

Ok so I just need a clarification from bezs and Atlanta picks from Doublebounce and TopDawg. Otherwise no more picks for overall winner or Atlanta, cause it's started. If you want to join late you can make pick for DC and onward.

Murray is not playing Atlanta. You can pick him for overall series, winner, but I still need a winner for Atlanta.

I need Atlanta picks from: Chico, Doublebounce, FEDERERNADAL13, and TopDawg.

John Isner & Santiago Giraldo for the runner up (for Atlanta)

Can I still join?
By the way, the overall winner is the one who wins most points in all of the tournaments combined?

Overall winner: Murray
Atlanta winner: Anderson
Atlanta runner-up: Isner

If i'm allowed to switch because their own the same side of the draw, RU: Anderson

All good. File is updated. And yes, the USTA/ATP (not sure) has its own points system for the USOS, but basically who wins the most in these 5 tournaments.

Yeah but players' results in Atlanta ultimately affects the overall series. If I let you (meaning anyone else) wait until later in Atlanta or after Atlanta, you'd have a slight advantage, for example if Isner lost early you'd know he's not going to do well.

I'll allow 'til 3 PM ET today, that's when play starts and a lot of the 1st round matches will be underway today.

So picking the 1 and 2 seeds was the right way to go. A few people still have both guys left. Next week I'll start up the sheet for points that will order everyone....Also DC draws are out so feel free to make W and RU picks for that.
