Warriors signed Andre Iguodala while shipping out Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins, and Brandon Rush to the Utah Jazz.

I don't like this signing, we're already solid at the SG/SF/PF spot. Of course Iguodala is projected to start, does that mean Harrison Barnes is going to the bench?

Or maybe, they really want to deal Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson to the Lakers to get Dwight Howard? (No! Don't do it!)

Iggy is a worthwhile signing, just let the man do his job and we'll see come December if they are where they want to be.:)

Rocketman had 26 rebounds

Dwight always destroys the Bobcats. They have no real interior presence. Any team weak at C gets mangled by Dwight. He pads his stats against them. The key is seeing how he does against the better front courts in the league who know how to defend and block him out.

Warriors acquistion of Andre looking good in the absence of HarrisonBarnes from the linenup anytime soon.
Andre can certainly score bucketfuls, but he's content to distribute and control the ball, assisting and constantly moving to help the whole TEAM.
Barne's was a me me scorer, who need as many shots as points scored.

Everybody destroys the Bobcats. Their practice is a highlight reel of Michael Jordan going 1 on 5.

Lakers perimeter D sucks. Kobe plays D only when he faces Wade's, Wall's, Irving's etc. of the league. Both Steves, Meeks and even Farmar (even though it looks like he's trying hard) sucks at defense.
I wonder what excuse for staying on the perimiter will Pau use this season. Before it was Bynum and Howard (i got that). But there's NO reason for him, not to park his @ss under the basket (other than the 3sec rule ;)).
What about Michael Carter-Williams. Best first game in the NBA i can remember. If he continues to play like that, Philly's "tank for Wiggins" plan may be in jeopardy LOL.

Michael Carter-Williams stats are better than even Lebron's 1st game in the NBA. These are Isaiah and the Big O's kinda of debut.

Nice to start fast.
Better to finish fast.
Flash in the pan, until he proves he can sustain his output for a whole season.
Warriors better test will be tonight, vs the Clips, who they usually match up well against. Clips are playing starters, and need to beat the W's for any credibility.

I have a slight feeling that this season won't be as good as some of the seasons we've had in the past few years. There are just too many teams that are in a rebuilding phase or just aren't going to cut it.

I might be going out on a limb here, but the only two legit teams in the East are Chicago and Miami, and Miami is the better between those two teams (depends on how good Rose is this year though). The West isn't THAT good - both LA teams aren't good enough (and the Lakers are going to SUCK), San Antonio are changing the guard, Houston is OK but probably aren't contenders, OKC are decent but probably won't be contenders, the list goes on...

But I might be going to deep into this after only a game or two. Maybe by December we'll have a better idea as to what'll happen.

EDIT: Also, any other Knicks fans here?

Bogut, Iquadola, and Thompson can play D at their positions.
Lee can hold his own against other PF's, making that one even.
O'Neal is an upgrade over Ezeli or Biedrins, even on D.
Wish they kept BrandonRush, a legitimate 6th man and great scorer.

Chris Paul, now that's how you do a post-game interview. He speaks with class, pays respect to his competitors, and rightfully rags on Craig Sager. :)

Kobe isn't going to be as good defensively coming off the injury. I love Kobe but its ridiculous to think he's still a force on both sides of the ball and will be when he comes back. Lakers IIRC were terrible on D last year and that was with Kobe and supposed defensive stopper Dwight.

Kobe had already lost a step defensively. He cannot shut down great offensive players.

And, barring injury, the Heat will win their third straight. There is no intrigue in the NBA.

I think you're dead on. Chicago may very well be the second best team in the league. I would favor them over anyone in the West. But, like everyone else, second best is as high as they can go barring some catastrophic injury in Miami. Maybe the Bulls can surprise me though...

Don't know about that man. They should still sit at one trophy if it wasn't for Pop effing things up and Indiana sticking with Hibbert ;)

Just saying. For such a "dominant" team, they had lots of trouble to get the trophy last year.

I agree that this season most likely is a Heat 3 peat. The NBA will get interesting again next year as long as LBJ leaves. I know the Magic have basically rebuilt around that timeline. They should be drafting a top 5 pick and signing some free agents next offseason and hopping back into serious contention by 2015.

It is naive to go against the Miami Heat but I'd say the BUILT (Pacers) will topple the BOUGHT (Heat) should they collide again in the east finals.

Westside is best left to the Clippers this time around even though I'm a big fan of the GOAT PF that is, Tim Duncan!

Seems like it should be time for the Clips to make a move.
Houston seems slow to embrace the big fella, but might get better in time.
Watching the Warriors for 20 + years, my vote goes there, if a starter doesn't get injured or Bogut plays less than 20 minutes.

Magic have a winning record and are playing mainly rookies and second/third year guys. Huh?

It won't last, but adding Oladipo has given other teams fits when it comes to perimeter defense.

i don't see any team tanking just yet for wiggins. thought we'd see that right away.

It was the same last year. Teams don't usually tank until the last 1/4 of the season. Plus any top 5 pick in this draft (maybe top 7) is going to yield a potential all star. Jabari Parker could end up being the #1 pick..Marcus Smart looks like the next elite PG….there are a lot of great players.

Ok, but I still like Blake a lot.

He impresses me with gutsy plays.

Watched Steve a lot at UMD and for the Wiz. He's a solid backup PG. He will give max effort on the defensive end. He's frail and bigger guards can just bully him around, but he will try and plays the passing lanes pretty well and gets his hands on a good amount of balls. Offensively he will set up the offense, probe, make the extra pass and knockdown the occasional open jumper. Solid glue guy.

Clips slama jamma street ball...
Thunder also....
Warriors 3 ball.
Spur's ageless smarts, with broken bodies and some new parts...
Heat held by the Lebron glue.
Did Rose miss hit best chance last year?
Indy building surely and slowly, no flash all substance...like Spurs?
