And I know for a fact the US distributor for Pro's Pro has the equivalent strings listed alongside each for comparison. They tend to be pretty accurate.

I'm currently hitting 16g Red Devil and 17g Ichiban Spin and both are nice.

I have a set of Red Devil 17 that I haven't used yet. How do you find the 16g? Have you used TF Pro Red Code? I've read that RD is very similar but a little more elastic. I'll be using the 17g RD in my signature racquet as a main string with Gamma Revelation 17 crosses pre-stretched, @48/52.

how does blackout compare to blackforce in terms of spin? and is there another offering of pros pro that outperforms in spin?

Anyone have an opinion on Claycourt plus?

It's very fragile but it's awesome... I can't string it on my dropweight because it snaps during the stringing process. In my electrical machine it's fine. It barely lasts me 2h and i'm not a stringbreaker (mostly due to the fact that i string at 25kgs on a 100'' 16x18 racquet).
The string is just amazing! It's just plush plush plush! Amazing feel at the net too. Durability is a issue, at least for me, not because of the cost, more because of the time i spend stringing my racquets. I'll be crossing with a thicker, lower power multi for some extra durability and just a tad more control.
It must pure pure gold on a 18x20 pattern. Prestige Mid users take a look at this stuff...

Love Claycourt plus. Have it strung 60lbs full bed in my 104 KBlade Team and it has power, touch and softness. I broke one set early but the other has maybe 20 hours on it with no fraying yet.

I think it is an honest string - what you get out I'd what you put in, but it is very arm friendly. Anyway I liked it enough to buy a reel.

So have you guys used Clay Court Plus as a cross with poly mains? Wondering how quickly it gets chewed up. I assume it has a little more pop and pocketing than your standard syn gut?

What's your level? Do you hit with topspin?

BlackOut is better in spin but it´s very low powered. BlackForce has very very good spin ad power in an very confortable string. I think BlackForce is an all in one string

Strategem 8 seems to be like RPM Blast.

3.5-4.0, not a huge amount of topspin but not flat either on both sides. I think CCP has a tough outer coating so it breaks with little fraying. When the coating or sheath breaks it's all over. But for me that can take 2 months or so playing 2-3 times a week.

I use a KBlade Team 18x19 so there's a fair amount of string in there.

Hi Carlosoki, do you consider BlackForce to have good tension stability? I haven't played it, but looking at the reports (including yours) on string forum, it appears that it is not very durable. I assume, therefore, that it notches quickly. Usually notching reduces spin potential, but not always to a great extent. Do you find that the spin potential of Blackforce deteriorates quickly?

Have you considered a hybrid of Prince XC mains/BlackForce 1.14 crosses in your 16x16?

Anyone can recommend a pros pro multi similar to gamma live wire or TF x1 biphase? Want it in my mains. Lethal weapon, kingut or gutex ultra? Anything else? Would really appreciate your help!

Not saying they are the same string, but the unusual (and pretty similar) look makes me curious...Clay Court Plus seems pretty similar to WeissCannon Baseline. There's also a string from Signum Pro (Fiber Force) that has that look. Anyone tried those WeissCannon or Signum Pro strings?

WeissCannon Baseline is the same string as far as I know. If you are discussing the price/performance ratio of a low powered multi, Clay Court + takes the crown by miles.

Try gutex ultra 1.30mm , very good multi even in full bed it provides good spin and power. Better than kingut.

I can comment on Strategem, before they added "8" to the name. I just finished my reel and I'm not planning on getting it again. It doesn't hold tension well. So I tried to see if it would have better longevity with a PSGD 17 main or a Revelation 17 cross. Both trials gave me terrible feedback from the start and the PSGD got notched very quickly. Strategem just doesn't hybrid well.

For the 4 or 5 playing hours that you get out of it, it plays very well. It's comfortable and has very good spin. But there is a little bit of feedback present, that some people would prefer, as it adds to the feel of the string. But if you like to dampen all vibes from your racquet, you might want to pass on this one. When it loses its playability, it is of the rocket launcher variety. And I don't want to have to put extra (grunt) spin on every ball to stay in the point.

edit: Strategem 1.25 @54

I already like Pro's Pro strings, even though I've never used any. It's like a cornucopia of flavours and styles to choose from, all at a value price. I'm thinking of actually ordering a reel or two but unsure which to try first.

I'm not that fussy at all with strings, I can usually adjust to anything. However if using a full bed of poly I would probably prefer something of a softer variety. Hexaspin sounds cool.

What is the thinnest pro's pro poly? I like thin poly in my 18x20s, and most polys are quite similar once you get thin: soft with short life; so a reel of pros pro for the cost of 4 sets of tour bite actually sounds like I need to try them if they have some thinner stuff, any of them less than 1.16mm?

Blackforce and Red Devil are both available in 1.14. Quite a few reviews on both at string forum. They are pretty well-regarded and supposedly both come from the same German factory. Apparently they are slippery, stretch a lot on the stringer, hold tension pretty well and are pretty durable (except in this thin gauge). Quite a few comments on string forum about using either of these in the crosses with a textured copoly main, like PP Blackout (by pretty much all accounts, including microscope comparison, identical to TF Blackcode.)

I'm very tempted to buy a reel of Blackforce 1.14.

Seems babolat can not sell so many RPM blast as they can produce.

I like to play the TRISTAR. I compared and it is same stuff as Prince premier attack/control.

I use Gamma drop weight :( I don't string enough racquets to justify getting a lockout/constant pull. But I have Stringway aluminium clamps in place of the stock plastic Gamma crap.

Thanks yangster007

I also use a dropweight, as seen in my signature. Those SW clamps are supposed to be good quality. Nice upgrade. I asked because a lockout tension of 45 on Red Devil would be quite low, but it would explain why it feels so stiff to me. I have it @48/52 w/POSG crosses. It might just require more breaking in.

The Red Devil 1.24 by itself feels really soft @45 IMO, maybe it's just personal preference. Or perhaps it feels really stiff on the 18x20 string pattern of that Dunlop ?

It could be my 18x20, but also I just noticed what a beast of a racquet you're swinging. That thing would certainly make the Red Devil feel softer than what I'm experiencing.

your dropweight machine IS a constant pull machine.

A lockout machine is not.

I thought constant pull meant electronic constant pull ? And crank is lockout ?
Ok I guess you are right, drop weight is "gravity constant pull".

It's only about 360 SW, a lot of members here swing way higher weight sticks, like 400+ SW in some cases, haha. 18x20 can be the problem, I put the Red Devil in my Prestige Mid just earlier, it doesn't feel as nice as it did in the BLX90 LOL.

Could it be that A1/A2/A3 Multi is Dunlop DNA? Experiences?

The spiral around the string looks same and the review i found sounds like DNA reviews:

"WhyNotLetItFly

"A" and "Spiral X" represent the model and the each number a color...
I have used A1(Black/Gold) in a full bed and hybrid. Bought a reel blind because I couldn't find any feedback on it but I am glad I did. First tried full bed at 57lbs which is actually low for me because I play indoors at high elevation (7000ft). The control was nice and I got nice feel and more consistent depth on my shots. Now I hybrid it with Hexaspin Twist at 57 and it's a great combo. Much more spin but still a nice feel to it. Haven't tried the other Pro's multis but A1 is a great choice."

I never tried RPM Blast . Black Fore is stiff? I'm using a low power frame ( Vcore Tour G 310 ) and i need a more powerfully string and with more feel than Signum Pro Tornado or Pro Hurricane Tour . on my list are: Pro's Pro Black Force , Signum Pro Firestorm

I think they are actually quite different. A multi is very dampened and low powered. I like it because it softens up the stringbed while also letting you swing out with confidence. DNA is a bit more dynamic in terms of power and spin.

Depends on the gauge really. In the thicker gauges the string is stiff with a good access to spin and some nice control.

The thin gauges however offer some nice power/pop along with great control and a crisp feel. The only downside is the playability duration which is quite short (as with most thin poly strings). It certainly is worth a try considering the price point. I am referencing the 1.14mm (18 gauge) version of the string by the way.

So pro´s pro copy the formula of the big brands?? its not that illegal?

What is probably happening is that companies that manufacturer strings (who are not always the same as the company that brands and sells the strings) sells the same string, or very similar string, to different companies. Making polyester strings is pretty easy, cheap and fast. It's easy for a manufacturer to make much more string than one company can sell. So they sell some of the excess capacity to another company.

Gosen, for example, sells it's strings under its own brand, but you can find advertisements online offering to sell string to other brands.

This doesn't, however, mean that all Pro's Pro strings are identical to some other branded string on the market. Pro's Pro itself does not make any claims like that that I'm aware of. Their US distributor makes comparisons to name-brand strings, but that also is not the same thing as claiming that Black Force, for example, is the same string as RPM Blast.

Ok I guess you are right, drop weight is "gravity constant pull".

A dropweight is considered a constant pull because once, the bar is level, it's constantly pulling tension until the stringer clamps and lifts the weight. But it does not result in as a consistent stringbed as a high end electronic (and IMO, a lockout).

Consider with a lockout and a high end electronic, the tension is pulled in a single, smooth motion of the tension head. With a dropweight (other than a Stringway), unless the stringer is spot on each and every time, the bar is lowered and raised multiple times (pull - relax - pull -relax...). This does not result in as a consistent stringbed.

Blackout and Plus Power are very close to their counterparts, but some of the others, not so much. The only thing Eruption has in common with Hyper G is the ostentatious color. Hexaspin Twist and Cyclone Tour are miles apart, other than being twisted polys. Blackout is still my favorite poly from them that I've tried.

Even if Pros Pro did make exact copies of well known strings its not forbidden as long as they dont infringe patents which are only valid for max 20 years anyway.

in fact, I think that the compositions / recipes of the strings, especially poly, are so innumerable and varied that it is not impossible to come across a string that is very similar to another.

as long as PP doesn't name their strings with the same names and use the same graphic designs as everyone else, they have the right to do anything.

now, the main concern (and I think the disappointment of some) is that if we read this kind of comparison, and we buy PP references to replace other brands, saying to ourselves it's exactly the same thing , we risk being disappointed 90% of the time. on the other hand, if we say to ourselves, that these are strings to try, to test, and we take into consideration that this is above all superb very affordable strings (the majority of club players will not need much more. . the majority of club players shouldn't be playing with poly in FB!) so, sion tries these tricks quite objectively without expecting to find a perfect clone of luxilon, signum, babolat or whatever, we will be in the vast majority of cases very happy.

I think people who bought PP expecting to get the exact replica of other products 5 times the price are in general disappointed. and it will be normal.
