$100 million and Novak

He sounds a little bit like Federer here, i agree, but no way in hell he is on that level of fakeness yet. No effing way. When he start to say things like "it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice", then i will really start to worry about it. ;)
The only thing worse than Fed's fakeness are a special section of his deluded fans

Yes, that's all well and good, Mr Djokovic, but when the number 90 in ATP rankings has trouble making ends meet, in terms of travel costs, hotel costs, coaching costs etc, then something is wrong.
Guy at #90 made $147,542 and we are only halfway through the season

How is that "making ends meet"?

If I am not mistaken it's not until around 200-300 that tennis pros start to really struggle

$147, 542 is not a lot of money when you have travelling expenses, coaches and taxes to pay. It's probably barely being able to hold your head above water. I think you are incorrect that only 200-300 really struggle. I would say it's hard to keep afloat from 100+.

Everyone says money doesn't make them happy... until they don't have enough of it to live a comfortable life.

The only people who have the privilege of saying these things are rich people. The average person cares very much about money and if their salary increased 50%, they'd be very happy.

When people become extremely wealthy, they either come to the realization that having money doesn't insulate a person from the pain and problems that every human is subject too, or they have so much that they are so insulated from every day life that they lose perspective.

After becoming the first tennis player topping the $100 million prize money earnings, Novak Djokovic said that he does not like it when people talk about money too much, because it’s sending the wrong message.

After being asked what the record means to him, Novak replied:

"Nothing. Money does not mean a thing to me. I do not look upon tennis as a profession and as my life through the eyes of money. It is a mean that increases the quality of my life and lifestyle, but no more than that".

Novak then elaborated why he believes media should not make big deal out of it.

"I do not pay much attention to that and I don’t like it when prize money discussions take over. Media are putting me in a very unpleasant position when they want me to talk about the amounts that I’ve won during my career – professional sport should not be played because of money. That is the number one issue and the society of today insists on that – success is being presented and explained through money and power and that shouldn’t be the unit of measure. I am 100% against it and I have completely different views and values", stated Djokovic and added:

"Money comes as a consequence, a positive one, of course, of dedication, love, passion for the sport and a consequence of your success. Can you imagine me speaking about money right now, while the average salary in Serbia is 200-300€? What would that be like? That is all I have to say. I am not trying to present myself as something I am not, being too modest or something like that. It is sad that in today's world the sport has become so tense, it has become a tool for creating unpleasant and aggressive rivalries".

Finally, Djokovic concluded.

“Sports have lost its initial purpose, now it’s a business, a machine for making money, which is pitiful. Still, there are opposite, positive examples and those should be a role-model for younger generations because money can’t be the basic and most important inspiration for a young athlete. It just can’t, that will only put him and his parents under more pressure, if you play only for the money and the fame, If your inspiration is true love for the sport and if that’s your primary emotion, then the rest will come, life will fix it for you".

Despite the thing about avoiding taxes, I believe he's speaking truthfully. I personally hate it when theyre handed a big check along with the trophy and asked something like "what do you think about getting all that money?" Totally awkward for the moment.

Finally how everyone hates him now for addressing this while not caring that Fedal are the two biggest corporate shills in the sport
