I have problem with this. this is why top pros that make it to year ending finals don't even try and this event usually turn out to be a Dud.... they have all the money they want and extra $100,000-300,000 don't make any difference to them so if they match doesnt' go well and they lose the 1st set, they just tank it. and fans suffer because they only see half hearted effort from top players.

In defence of the doubles though,,,,those doubles guy really try hard at that event and give it 110 %. See, they are Hungrier.........LOL.. maybe except Paes,,who is billionare..

Much safer to be a baseball player.

Out of 750 MLB roster spots (25 per team and 30 teams), the top 34 all make over $20 million per year. You have to go to player #115 before you get to under $10 million, and player #556 to get below $1 million.

#1 Highest paid/ranked player: $34.6 million (MLB) and $11 million (Djoker)
#34 Highest paid/ranked player: $20 million (MLB) and $0.85 million (Joao Sousa)
#100 Highest paid/ranked player: $11 million (MLB) and $238,393 (Radu Albot)
#250 Highest paid/ranked player: $4.8 million (MLB) and $6,149 (Jose Hernandez-Fernandez)
#500 Highest paid/ranked player: $1.2 million (MLB) and $68,552 (Marcus Willis! Nice Wimby bump)
#750 Highest paid/ranked player: $521,000 (MLB) and $3,818 (TEODOR-DACIAN CRACIUN)

MLB Players also have travel and lodging covered by the team, as well as a hefty per diem of over $100 per day for food.

I am very surprised to see Djokovic on that list. Every match he plays, the crowd cheers for the other guy. He is a blight on the entire sport. Who is buying stuff because Djokovic endorses it?

And this, ladies and gents, is why top athletes don't choose tennis.

Federer and the top cast of characters are doing their jobs at making the game more popular and growing the game. The ATP, WTA and all of the other federations need to step up their games to take the pro tennis to the next level.

I don't understand how anyone buys this line anymore. He's perfectly popular. I know several people IRL who are Novak fans. He gets plenty of crowd support, and his products do sell.

So most efficient/charismatic/popular player is Tiger - 0.274M won, 45M endorsed :)
Its a shame what happened to his career post 08....without all the injuries and the scandal...he'd be the undisputed GOAT and making 120-160mil a year.
I guess he'll just have to do with 45 mil/year. Poor him
