You may be right about superstitions, but watch this video and note how quickly he played. It was McEnroe who looked twitchy. Borg played with the speed of Fed, and younger people will be amazed at how often he rushed the net. It was such a different game with wood and gut.

You may be talking about this:
Borg found the channel slam a huge goal for him. He would sleep in the same hotels, same transportation. Doing everything the same year after year.
Its well known his rituals, just as with Rafa. His physical form was superb. But I believe this is well known.

Borg wasnt always cool as ice. His coach banned him from playing tournaments 6 months when he was a teen, because of bad behavior on court. Worst 6 months on Borgs life, and since then Borg never had riots on court again.

Im not so into the wood days, but I admire what Borg did winning clay and grass back to back. Most difficult to do in tennis imo.

This is an American forum. Keep it PG friendly ;) After living in US I understood how conservative they are with nakedness and swearing as well...Quite a big difference!

Do you have Indian friends. It is amazing to hear from them some idiosyncrasies that they have back home. Quite strange because these guys do seem very chill.

2019 is about to be the most epic year in the history of tennis. Djokovic is going to complete his second ever DJOKO-SLAM (hopefully beating Nadal in the final of RG) followed by a CYGS as icing on the cake. That means Djokovic goes into his pet slam the following year (AO 2020) with a chance to bridge the gap between him and Federer to just ONE slam. Can't wait!

Rafael Nadal: 'I have been going through tough moments'

Rafael Nadal believes he will get over his Australian Open final loss to Novak Djokovic in a quick way as he is an experienced player FEBRUARY 2, 2019 22:10 by LUIGI GATTO | VIEW 6154 574 2

Rafael Nadal believes he will get over his Australian Open final loss to Novak Djokovic in a quick way as he is an experienced player.

In press conference, the Spaniard said: "I am not new on this. I know these kind of things happens. Even to the best players of the history happened. I don't say I have been destroyed.( :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D ) I have been playing against a player that was at the highest level possible, in my opinion, tonight. A player playing like this is difficult to win. He was better than me tonight. That's the sport. We can talk a lot, but when the player did almost everything better than you, you can't complain much. The only thing that you can say is congrats to the opponent, well done.

For my side being very happy, big personal satisfaction about the two weeks, you can't imagine -- is nice and easy now playing the final here, looks always that.

But I have been going through very tough moments. After the US Open, I didn't had the chance to play for three weeks or four weeks for the knee. Then I came back, and two days or three days before Bercy, I felt the feet, that something going wrong. I went to Bercy, had a strain in the abdominal. Then I came back, had to do surgery to the feet because a small portion of the ankle was gone. Is all the time under a tough process of things. Then when you want to start the season, what happened for me in the thigh at the beginning of the season, is a lot of issues. Even if I always say that I am a positive, believing that the things can go better all the time, that's tough. That's mentally tough. It's painful that you can't do the things that you need to do to be 100% fit. If we analyze all this stuff, have been probably better impossible two weeks for me, even if tonight was not my day, because the opponent played too good, and I was not ready to face that level tonight. But I believe that I can be ready in a couple of months if I am able to keep practicing and to keep competing at that level."

(Epic lies after lies. He said he injured his thigh in Brisbane yet he still kept practicing in Brisbane while the tournament was still going. He was 100%fit. He wants to make excuses for his loss, nothing new).

Yes, 2019 has been epic. We just got to see 100 titles won for the first time since 1983, and for the first time many saw it live, and it happened over the very guy that Federer lost to at AO. Crazy how things happen.
