Welcome to the 3rd event of the 2019 WTA Sudden Death League season: DOHA

Play starts on Monday 11th February

Draw -

WTA SDL SHEET IS HERE - Rankings 2019

Rules of the game:

1. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If she loses, you're out.

2. You can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you have no picks remaining, you're eliminated from the competition.

3. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

4. You cannot advance to the next round via a walkover since it is hard to know exactly when someone announced they were pulling out HOWEVER this rule does not apply once you reach the semifinals

5. As you cannot win a match by a walkover it is highly advised that you make a back-up pick to your main pick. Your pick and back up cannot be from the same match. If so, back up will be invalidated.

6. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If she retires before the match, your back-up pick will be used unless you change your pick before your back up match begins.

7. NEVER edit your pick. If you want to change your pick, please quote your old pick and choose a new player. Edited posts will not be taken into consideration.

We will be picking 5 pick's for this tournament. Our schedule is -

Let’s replace it with Washington DC. Runs the same time as San Jose (formerly Stanford), but we can do two that week. Keeps the USO series the same.

I'd be ok with that...starting this week I can help more during the AO work was crazy (writing performance reviews of all my employees) and was sick...but things going forward will be easier. But @Boozyuzi is still in charge haha

What are you thinking about adding DC? It’s basically the same as having a singles & doubles week.

I think we should stick to Premier events and above. We should wait and see if a new Premier event is added in the week before the US Open.

What about Birmingham? But that's gonna be 3 tournaments in a row with closing in Wimbledon. Birmingham usually has better lineup compare to Eastbourne and a lot of players withdrew from Eastbourne due to forthcoming Wimbledon.

I think we need to scratch Sydney and switch to Brisbane. Not really a good lineup in Sydney from time to time. Brisbane is more packed. Just my 2 cents.

We could also do Charleston after Miami. Premier on green clay usually gets a decent field because it kicks off the season, & it’s super easy travel for the players.

I think we should stick to Sydney over Brisbane as the new year start may mean a very low entry. I'm OK with switching to Birmingham from Eastbourne. I agree that Birmingham is now the stronger run up tournament for Wimbledon. Anyone object?

Please don't edit your post if you want to change your pick.. best to quote your original post and include your new pick. The rules are in the first post.

You can't pick Goerges again in this tournament as you picked her in R1. Would you like to continue with Svitolina as your pick in R2?

Yep that’s fine, Svitolina is choice then. (I need to re-read the rules)
