Good thing I lost my sports soul a long time ago LOL.
Mtl is playing really well honestly. It took me a while to see it fully tbh. Price is obviously the reason they're here. He's phenomenal, but outside of that their defensive system as a whole is just rock solid right now. They don't give up any "grade A" chances to the other team. They're super hard to score on, and they counter attack exceptionally well so if a shot is blocked at the line one of the forwards has a partial breakaway at the other end. Their PK is awesome too, but I really think some of that is Vegas's fault. Their PP is terrible, worse than I thought. If they play TB or even NYI I expect a few more PP goals against.
Vegas lost the series at 2 critical points IMO. Fleury's error completely changed the series in terms of control (Mtl being up 2-1 instead of down can't be underestimated), and then Deboer putting Fleury back in for G5. Even if you say none of the goals were Fleury's fault I still don't think the decision made sense after Lehner basically stole G4. Coach took out the goalie that might've gotten in the Habs heads a game ago and put back in the one that made the crucial error. Never made one bit of sense to me.
I also think this is a cinderella run for MTL. Not unlike many other teams in years past. It's not likely to be an annual thing. They'll have a good team with Suzuki and Caufield leading the way, but they aren't perennial contenders yet IMO. And no one saw this coming anyway. They're lying if they say otherwise.
Don't ask me what happens tonight. I think TB will win if forced to choose, but it's a G7 so anything goes.
