If Medvedev had a point ending consistent weapon( which I think he needs to work on, he can do it with his FH) he will be unstoppable on any surface.

Meanwhile P Busta is stealthily moving through the draw. What do people say about the Spaniard's chances?

I wish people would stop calling players mugs. I'll have you know my mug right now is full of delicious vimto and maintaining itself in my hand. It would never collapse on me the way Opelka is collapsing.

Talk about meandering, commentators talking about how Medvedev would make a good clown.

I am not kidding, they actually gave his "funny walk" as a reason for that.

You could say the same for a lot of pros. A lot of these players lack a dominant aggressive forehand for first strike tennis.
Tennis matches are NOT won with the highlight reel rallies that we all focus on. They are won usually by the quicker points 0-2 and 0-4 shots. Hence why the first strike tennis is so important.
For instance - while playing Nadal on clay - it's almost impossible to get the return (which returning his serve) on his backhand. Even by a GOAT ROS like Novak. Nadal will take more than 3/4th serve returns on his forehand and then take control of the point, if not end it right there.

Wow the lady empire is so lazy. She didn't even move to check the line call. Prefers to be seated. Hell, wouldn't it be better to get some movement in the legs..
I think that backhand by Medvedev was in.

Meddy playing well. He could be world no1 by the end of this tournament.
The most undeserved #1 of all time. No slam wins. The most recent slam final in which he got absolutely humiliated.
Everyone would know who the true king is. I hope Medvedev NEVER gets to #1. Unless he wins a slam, which I don't think will happen.

So Med was losing in first rounds during the whole clay season and now he is suddenly in form? And some still think it is not a red hardcourt?

I'm becoming more convinced it's happening, bar a Novak RG 2021 title.
How? It can only happen if:
1) Nadal beats Novak in the SF.
2) Medvedev beats Titspas/Zverev to get to the final.

I would say that 2) is even more unlikely than 1). Novak has a better chance of beating Nadal, than Medvedev has of beating Titspas/Zverev. The latter 2 have been really in form this clay season.
And while I love what Medvedev is doing in RG 2021, he will be flummoxed when he faces a decent clay court player.

I mean after Wimbledon. Not after RG.

Medvedev is going to super dangerous at Wimbledon this year, if he can do well on a surface we all thought he couldn't play let alone being his worst one so a surface where his serve will be a weapon also hus flat groundstrokes will be dangerous in it all points sign towards a great run at Wimbledon

Could you please provide some scenarios. I haven't done the research. What would Medvedev need to do in Wimbledon to get to #1?
Does he get there automatically if Novak fails to win Wimb 2021?
