Against Djokovic, Tsitsipas would have a fair shot. Although would be slight underdog. Against Rafa he would have virtually no chance with the matchup issue and well it’s Rafa Nadal in a RG final. If Djokovic vs Nadal semi happens he would prefer Djokovic to win in a long match. Plus no player as beat Rafa at RG and also won it. Djokovic would be trying to achieve 2 goals in one which is tough to do.

However, like I said before can’t see anyone stopping Nadal again.

I agree. I even think if by some miracle Djokovic knocks out Nadal in semis he’s still no lock to win it. As no player has ever beat Nadal then won RG. It’s a curse not yet broken. Nadal is RG, he rarely ever loses and even if he does that player cannot win the event ala Soderling and Djokovic. Djokovic is trying to crack 2 impossible codes here haha

No doubt if Novak somehow came through he’d be physically tired because he’d probably need 5 sets. Tsitsipas could certainly take advantage of that and his game on clay matches up decent against Djokovic. Whereas if Nadal comes through no chance for Tsitsipas with the 1 handed BH thing and Rafa just won’t lose a RG final.

Tsitsipas will be hoping Djokovic gets to final instead of nadal no doubt. Djoko would start favourite due to his record but only a marginal one and Tsitsipas recent clay meetings with Novak has been very close so he’d be confident

For me the killer is the weather. I remember in 2018 USO in 1st week djokovic really struggled in the heat against poor players. That was hard court.
I genuinely feel a week of hot sunny weather is too much for Novak on basis of what we saw in USO. Also at W2018 when he insisted (he was within his right to do so) on the roof staying closed when it was a glorious day definitely to me suggested a weakness in hot sunny weather.
First Roland Garros in years where weather is going to be hot for 7 days solid. It is a game changer.

I would think Tsits just being good on clay and Med wanting to prove people wrong have more bearing on their play than Djokovic’s comments.

I agree nadal and Djokovic are still the favourites. Rafa being outright no1 and then djoko. I think the next gen have more chance against Djokovic in final here obviously but still Novak would go in favourite just not a lock like Rafa would. Rafa definitely won’t lose the final if he gets there, whereas with Novak it’s more possible but I’d still be confident he would get it done.

Next Gen conspired with RG organisers to rig this draw and let the old men duke it out against each other, so they could then feast on the victor.
Unfortunately it'll probably backfire since no matter how motivated you are, all that energy and motivation drains away when you start playing Rafael Nadal on Chatrier

I think its even between hard and clay. Because he is spaniard we tend to believe clay is best surface for him.

I think there has been a fix along those lines for sure. I have noticed this year no subtle remarks by Nadal and Djokovic aimed at each other so i wonder if both are wise to this.
