3rd ever slam quarter final for Nick, with the first one being at Wimbledon itself 8 years ago in 2014.
1st ever slam quarter final for Garin, that too ironically on grass (he is a clay court specialist)

Both have survived a tough 5 setter in the round before.
Nick won 4-6 6-6 7-6 3-6 6-2 vs Brandon Nakashima of "USA", in a match similar to a pendulum swinging to & fro.

Garin came back from the brink to defeat Nick's countryman Alex De Minaur in 5 sets 2-6 5-7 7-6 6-4 7-6 in an absolute nailbiter

Who wins this clash? How?

What's Garins's record like on Grass anyway ?? Most unlikely clay court player showing up to the Quarterfinal ... ? very surprising. and was Demanauer injured or something after the 2nd set ?? he has no business losing this match

I mean, to this point Nick has mentioned he is focused and not doing things as usual, which to me means he isn't drinking or playing COD all night. That said, he is at that $300+ million dollar mark just to show up for the Q4 match and play a bit. And may have had enough sitting things out and need some twitter pics or living big, so....

Nick evaded the banana skin in the previous round when he wasn't playing well, which is unlike him. I have a feeling he slips up on this one as he will be heavily favoured. Voted Garin in 4.

Would not be surprised to see Nasty Nick come out and serve him off the court in about 75 minutes flat.

Garin-De Minaur was a significantly higher standard than Kyrgios-Nakashima :happydevil:
Hope Kyrgios wins this, Garin will make Nadal run more....

As much as I dislike Nick, Cristian Garin should be nowhere near a Wimbledon semifinal.
Green Clay is now Garin's fave color of clay as he has great improvisation with his simple mechanical strokes, no surprise really.

Wimby 2nd week is as slow or equal to Rome Masters, were 2008 peak Fed lost to Stepanek using 80-90% S&V
If RG had Rome Master conditions, 1984 level Macca would have devoured Lentils and be an RG.

I have faith at this stage Kyrgios comes through. Getting very Dimitrov AO 17 vibes. Coincidentally losing to Nadal in 5 sets in Semis is also on the possible cards.

Garin can’t be a Wimbledon semi finalist. That would be tragic.
Although I regularly post in the "How's Garin Farin" thread, I actually agree! I very much hope that Nick takes this. And I fully expect him to, unless he manages to get himself disqualified.

Rooting for Garin. It would be nice to avoid the clown show in the semis. Usually Nick behaves with players who he doesn't resent so I think he will behave today but he won't in the semis if he wins today. Best wishes to Christian Garin!

Maybe a silly question but why are the two matches on at the same time?? Certainly Wimbledon (and everyone..) makes more money by staggering the matches?
