Brief description of play style: (Baseliner, serve and volleyer, etc.) Right handed baseliner...but like to attack the net on opponents second serve. Above average forehand, average serve, average or slightly below average one-handed backhand.

How long have you been playing?:
4 years total...gave it up for a few years but just started playing again.

Current primary racquet:
Wilson ProStaff 5.9 Stretch...I think I bought it in 1997.

Sting type:
Wilson Sensation 16

String tension:
60

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
I am just getting back into Tennis and am looking to upgrade my racquet. I am loooking at the Dunlop M-Fil 300, Prince Shark, and the Head LM Radical. I am hoping to spend under 100 dollars. I plan on having my racquet strung at a lower tension next time as my current setup seems a little harsh on my joints.

Current primary racquet:
Head LM Instinct Tour XL with a leather grip.

Sting type:

String tension:

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
I might change to a different string since BB original doesn't give me enough feel. Its a hard choice since i really like the spin from full Luxilion. I really like the racket since it helps generate lots of power with its high swing weight. Its weight is also good since it doesn't get pushed around in heavy hitting.

All Court/Counterpuncher:
I will come into the net at every opportunity, but I'm happy to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to attack, e.g. short balls, opponent out of position, etc.
Good consistent topspin forehand with SW-to-Western grip. 2-handed backhand is usually flatter. Good slices off both wings. My favorite shot is the extreme angle cross court on a short ball for winner.
Unfortunately, my serve is below average. I can generate good amount of spin on 2nd serves, but I rarely attempt to pump up the pace or to make too good of a placement.

How long have you been playing?
1+ year.

Current primary racquet:

Pretty happy. I've tried poly and didn't like it. Full multi is too soft. Full synthetic gut is fine, but I like my current setup better. If I had more money, I might use gut, but.....

forehand, i love to rip the ball to every corner with much spin possible.

My racquets share a common design feature with other racquets - they are fine as long as you hit the ball in the middle. Only change I am thinking of making is to move to SPPP hybrid - I find balls tend to fly too much with a full SynGut setup. Have tried two SPPP jobs, and trying to get the right tension.

I am pretty happy at the moment. The Heat is a nice, low-powered frame that is light and maneuverable enough for me to take big cuts at my windshield wiper topspin fh. The poly strings have nice spin capability and really allow me to swing out on every shot without fear of spraying the ball. If I switch, it will be to something a bit more weighty like the POG OS to get more stability on my backhand and return of serve.

New to hybrid string, so far pretty pleased with the set up. I am able to hit with more pace and control with the hybrid. Recently replaced my stock Yonex grip with Wilson Micro Comfort.
I'm also playing the RDS002 UL, I was very surprised and please with the performance of this racquet. I am torn between the two, the RDS002 serve is a monster. I know its because the stick is .5 longer and bigger headsize that delivers the extra punch I need. Time will tell!

My Setup

Age:
26

Brief description of play style: (Baseliner, serve and volleyer, etc.)
In Singles: Basically a counterpuncher who looks to close into net. Steady forehand with ability to create angles. Backhand slice is my bread and butter from returning serve to diffusing pace to rallying until I see an opening. My footspeed is an asset. Lack of power is a liability. I REALLY have to think on the court to create opportunities to win a point, any point. Serve is average. Dependent on placement; power is lacking and spin is neutral. I pride myself in having good "court sense".
In Doubles: I love to chip and charge, serve and volley. My transition game is average and my net play is a tad bit above average. Love to poach, love to lob, love to be in the hot seat. When i stay back too often in dubs, i find myself losing it for my team.
I play with an eastern forehand grip and an eastern backhand grip with both my one hander and two hander.

How long have you been playing?:
About 14-15 years

Current primary racquet:
I am switching between two actually. 60% Head Ti Fire Tour Edition and
40% with my Dunlop 300g. Been trying to move up in racket weight slowly. Play with rackets as they are; stock. Grip size is 5/8.

String type:
Prince Lightning XX (silver or the pink breast cancer ones), 17g or
Ashaway Dynamite WB (i like these the best but can't always afford them), 16g

String Tension
Depending on the weather, type of player/play...56-62 lbs.

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
Due to the limited availability of my TI Fire Tour Edition, i've been looking for another stick. Possibly one that's a little heftier. I have more or less settled with the Dunlop 300G. Today i had the opportunity to DEMO one of the newer Babolats and was impressed however. I am still looking for a new stick i guess.

I'm 26,
1.5 years of very frequent playing.
4.5 baseliner with good serve and good directional control from both my two handed backhand and a full swing forehand. Will switch between flat or spin stroke as needed. My game is mostly in creating angles, rarely find myself volleying unless my opponent has a weak wing.

I like my setup for now, it suits my game well and I'm able to get both a nice pop on flat hits and all the spin I'd want as well - but I may add a bit of weight on it later.

I'd recommend strongly the racket in my sig, but since you are on a budget, get the M-fill 300 and lead it up a bit if you feel it's a bit too light.

Older Radicals are not bad either - though I'm not a fan of their feel.

How happy are you with your setup? The SPPP felt like crap when I first got them strung. That's what I wanted because then it played GREAT for a day or two but now it's just GOOD but not great. Brief description of play style: (Baseliner, serve and volleyer, etc.) Generally baseline, I'm really trying to incorporate more net play in but its a tough transition. Good forehand, Backhand has mood swings, consistent serve, ok volleys in doubles and less ok in singles if I dont get a putaway on the first one.
How long have you been playing?:
8 years...started in high school and havent been able to keep play as often or consistent since then (working on my masters now)

Current primary racquet:
still in identity crisis lol...I've been through radicals, ultralight racquets, heavy old school mids (wilson sting was a fav.), dunlop 300g, and most recently wilson 6.1s. I decided to go lighter so used the hyper prostaff 6.5 and loved it except on volleys, so I started using the prostaff 6.0 95 (maneuverable but heavier). Decided to try to split the difference and go for a k6.1team, which is not really like either stick at all (its actually really wierd), but i'm learning to like it. considering a full switch to the 6.0 95 though if I can get the serve feeling right and can get a good trade on the kteam.

Sting type: usually synthetic gut, I've used pro supex big ace and like it though. Planning on hybriding synthetic gut with pro supex blue gear.

String tension:
mid tension on all racquets

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
pretty happy. If I can get over liking "new" racquets and pull the trigger, i might go for prostaff 6.0 95s as my main sticks. I really like the combination of light weight and dense patterns that the 6.5s afford me, but they are tough to come by. I might try the nps, and if I find it a little more likethe 6.5s go for it.

Pretty happy w/ the setup as it feels pretty good and am playing well with it. Could use a little less weight, but sometimes the weight pays off. Tried a few 100 sq in. rackets to get a bigger sweetspot & more margin for error, but so far so good. Big negative of the 16x18 is it'll snap strings pretty fast. Right now giving serious consideration to the Fischer Pro Magnetic Tour 100. I always seem to flip flop between Wilson & Fischer.

Above average volleys for high school players, not very good in endurance but a good sprinter.
How long have you been playing?: 3 years, about 2 1/2 hour a day (4 in the summer)
Current primary racquet: Dunlop M-fil 200 x3 with Babolat Leather and Wilson Pro (Tourna in July-August), lead at 3 & 9 to make it even balance (don't know how much lead, should check that)
String type: Cyberflash 17g mains, Babolat Superfine Play 16g crosses
String tension: 58-62
How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
Very happy. May make the switch to the new Topspin string coming out due to the rave reviews and the low price (about $80).

Agressive all-court play. Really working on and improving my doubles play as the USTA is all about doubles and neglects singles. I love singles but finding matches/tournaments around here is difficult on occasion. Speed and counter-punching are my greatest weapons but I can hit clean winners if I set the point up well. Don't really have a true weapon--kinda like Davydenko--just solid all around. 4.0 but probably 4.5 next year due to results of this year.

How long have you been playing?
Two years in high-school. Then 15 off and playing again for the last four years.

Primary racket:
Head FXP Prestige mids

String:
Big Banger Alu

Tension:
57

Happy with set-up?
Heck yeah!!! Would not change a thing.

Brief description of play style: (Baseliner, serve and volleyer, etc.):
Right handed all-court player. I play a tremendous amount of doubles so that's rounded out my game nicely. I'd say I'm primarily a baseliner but I'm always looking to move to the net when the opportunity arises and I serve & volley frequently, too.

How long have you been playing?:
Played from the age of 6 with my dad and brother, then in high school moving up to the #3 singles in Varsity. Gave it up for 7 years and just picked up a racquet again less than 3 years ago.

Current primary racquet:
Prince Original Graphite Mid (93) now. Have played for over a year with the Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 85 leaded to 13.5 oz (which had replaced the Wilson nCode Tour 90 for me) but the small head size was becoming too much of a hinderance when trying to improve beyond the 4.0 level.

Sting type:
Mains: Gosen Sheep Micro 16G
Crosses: Babolat X-Cel Premium 17G

String tension:
60

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
I'm pretty happy with my current setup. I'm still adjusting to the much more open string pattern and increased power level of the POG but it's been much better on my rotator cuff (which the 6.0 85 was slowly destroying). I shank much less, thank God. As for changes, I've also just purchased a pair of Donnay Pro One International 95 racquets and will be deciding between using them or the POGs as my daily hitters. So far, the POG is winning.

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
My racquets feel heavy for my 1h backhand. I am going to change them for the head microgel extreme.

Pretty happy with my setup right now, but still having trouble with the high tension drop from polys. Maybe I would try hybrid in the future.

My racket search to replace my RD-7 has been on-going for number of years; yet still havent find one in the Yonex family that plays like it. I would like to stick with Yonex. I am also looking to other strings to give me more spin and tension holding capability.

all court player, but mostly from the baseline. i do attack the net a lot depending on the circumstances and i come in on short balls. one handed forehand, two handed backhand, and a pretty decent slice backhand.
How long have you been playing?: picked the game up when i was five or six, played all throughout high school in a competitive high school league in the bay area, seldom played in college and started picking it up again.

Current primary racquet:
Dunlop Mfil 300

Srting type: Wilson Sensation 16

String tension:
57

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?: i'm pretty pleased with my setup. i played with 6.1 classics in high school, but wanted an easier to swing raquet to get myself back into the groove and this raquet couldn't be more perfect for that. i usually like higher tensions in my raquets, but a lower tension seems perfect with the dunlop. other than that, only thing i added to my raquet was a babolat leather grip. i'll probably try to play with different lead tape setups as i'm slowly finding the raquet too light.

Brief description of play style: Right Handed baseliner with full western grip. I am getting decent coming to the net. 2HBH not much power or ability to place definetly not for hitting winners. Just recently turned a weak serve into a strong point of my game hitting continental with pace both flat and with spin.

How long have you been playing?:
Until this June I played at most 5 times in my life. Now play 1-2 times a week now. I also practice off the wall about an hour or two a day since June.

Sting type: Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 17

String tension:

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
I'm very happy with my setup, putting time into deciding what racket you're getting is definetly worth it.

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:I'm very happy I'm just starting to get back into tennis so would like to try out a PS 6.0 85 or Prestige and maybe some lead tape at the 2-10 position and play around with different strings and tensions but other than that I'm really happy.

How long have you been playing?: i was on and off since 3/4th grade. it's safe to say i've *really* been playing tennis for 7-8 years.

Current primary racquet: prince tt warrior mp

String type: prince synthetic gut 16

String tension: one at 60 lbs and the other at 53

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?: yep. pretty happy for the most part. the biggest thing if anything is the higher sweet spot on the racquet apparently due to the weighting at 10 and 2 o'clock. it takes 10-15 mins to get used to it because i usually play with a max 200g (which is heavier, for practice), and the spot is a little lower.

How happy are you with your setup? What changes are you thinking about making?:
I am very happy with the racket that I have been using for 10+yrs. In between, I played with T90, C10 Pro,LM Radical Tour MP, all for a short while, but still the old school Radical Tour fits me the best. The string set-up is very good so far (I can from Poly/Gut to the current 3years ago). The only thing I am thinking about is to try to go for lower tension (say 59/61)

Brief description of play style: Aggresseive baseliner. I recently 2 mos. ago switch to a 1HBH. It's going well and my consistency is better than it was with the 2HBH. I've been working with pro on hitting more angles, a good cross court slice, and serve and volley to get more variety in my game

How long have you been playing?:
1.5 years recently. Didn't really play since I was on high school team in late 70's. Took time off due to marriage and family. Life in general.

I have done well with the LM4. It has lots of power which is it's primary flaw at this point. I take a good cut at the ball. When I miss it's genally long and not by much. The LM 4 has a nasty sound to it. Almost like a buzz. I've dampened it down to a tolerable level with a big ole rubberband. I've been thinking about a new stick. Something with less power and a little heavier. My daughter plays on her high school team. She plays a Prince Hybrid Shark. I tried it and didn't like it. I've tried that Wilson Ntour which I liked but when a played a guy that hit hard I fely like the raquet was getting pushed around quite a bit. My current demo list includes:

Head MG Rad
Technifibre 335
Volkyl DNX 9 and 10
Babolat Pure Storm Tour
