Kvitova out of that list for sure. Would be incredible to see her win a major after the home invasion incident a few years ago. She'd have to get through Ash Barty first, so that one should be really good.

On her best (in-form days) I think Petra Kvitova is the best player on WTA tour, so I checked her. She has so far in the tournament shown both great mental strenght and amazing, powerful game. If her level of play would decline in the matches to come, I'm alright with Halep's, Muguruza's or Barty's victory in the tournament.

PV for the reasons stated above. Close call over Garbine, who would return to slam form with a win. Good tennis ahead, with a nice mix of the smaller players (Barty; Halep; Kenin) and bigger athletes (PV; GM; etc.)

Barty, and a distant second Halep.
Barty has a far more varied game. A great disposition and sporting nature.
Muguruza. Ugh. Amazing that she can be so terrible generally and then string wins together at a major. On the plus side, l like she has Martinez in her corner and she does have an incredible lob. That aside, her game is so dull.

I'm rooting for Kenin. Kvitova was my second choice among quarterfinalists, but Barty knocked her out.

Garbine Muguruza. She's proven herself at the majors and is by far the most talented of the remaining players. She still has not lived up to her true potential and that should be a frightening thing for the rest of the field, considering how she's playing at the moment.

Who woulda thunk that Ash would be that tight and error-prone in the SF round? I thought the nerves would happen in the Finals (as it has for Serena), not in the SF match. Not sure if it was her very best, but Sofia played admirably.
Even tho it only went 2 sets, the other SF was quite close and well fought by both. Garbine won 90 points while Simona won 87. Garbi had the big serve and was a bit more aggressive (high risk). More aces and DFs. Nearly twice as many winners but nearly double the number of UEs as well. Simona played decently but Garbine had been playing some of her best tennis (that we've not seen in a while).Good battle.
