He lost only two matches outside Nadal on clay. That's crazy. From USO 2004 to Dubai 2007 he was almost unstoppable, he hardly lost, and when he lost they were close matches mostly (MP vs Gasquet, Safin and Nadal, two points away against Nalbandian).

If he had been clutch, he would have never lost in those years.

If he had only not squandered those 2 championship points in the 2006 Rome final…
For me, that was the most relevant match of the 21st century, regarding GOATs rivalries.
He always had a problem in closing matches. It started against Safin where he missed match points.

Had he coverted Match points in SFs and Fs and could have been clutch like Djoker....the slam count should have touched 25 and the masters count too could have been more high.

Federer at his peak was literally Godlike, he leads in almost every stat at his peak except the clay stat which obviously Nadal owns.

Federer is so powerful that the age at which Federer last lost to someone older than him in a grand slam was 23 and among the ATGs it is an open era record he shares with Bjorn Borg (well borg was some some months younger though) and considering the fact that Borg ran away at 25, this is a very great feat that Fed played till 40 and still limited it to 23.

Djokodal aged 31-34 won 11 of the last 12 Slams.

Federer is a real hero for not retiring at 25
