Of course you won't see the same security in other tournaments because the situation in other countries is different, even inside resorts the security is high to prevent any kind of problem product of the current state of this country. México is dangerous but there aren't gun-shootings every single day in every single city as some people/media to like say. Most news report about violence, not what happens in quiet areas, but that doesn't mean every place is full of violence. I live in the east-center part of the country, in a zone that is fought by some cartels, and, at most, there are one or two shootings per month and it's not even in the city, but in the outsides of it. That's the tendency in this country except in the northern states. The rest of the violence comes from kidnapping and that kind of crimes, but the majority of the victims of that are citizens who have been identified by cartels as someone of value. Tourists are far from being the main target.
You should come to México, either Acapulco or Los Cabos, or at least ask for some references from people who have been in those tournaments. So far, all I've heard of Acapulco are good reviews and not from Mexicans, but fans and press from other countries.
