I like your thinking. However, does anybody know what happened to the manager that let Nole go? My guess is nothing...
What if the same manager negotiated the shoe deal, so that everyone knows which company makes the shoes for the world #1 while saving big on the clothing contract?
Adidas prob realized she'll never win a slam after not beating 10 year old brat Ostapenko.
Big companies like their contract to go head to toe. I know for a fact that new balance wanted to sign Nole after the adi contract and then passed on him because he'd signed wiht Uniqlo. How many people know that Borg was wearing diadora shoes? Most of the people know his tight Fila gear
Doesn't make a lot of sense. Plenty of other players with Adidas sponsorship have never won a slam either. (Some have never gotten close to #1 or even reached a slam final). Did Adidas drop Caroline Woz, Fabio Fognini, Jerzy J, Jo-Wili Tsonga, or Maria Kirilenko?
I noticed that "the brat" has still been losing in 1st and 2nd rounds quite a bit. Would think that Adidas would go with someone who wins often -- even if they've not won a slam event.
Too late for most tennis manufacturer for 2018, most have already used up their budget for top level player endorsements. Up and coming players there is a set a side space for grabbing them however!Halep is probably just asking a ton of $$ and adidas don't think its worth it after the RG final. Maybe she won't budge from her number…she also might be under the influence of her friend Tiriac and tough to negotiate with.

That would be great for Halep on so many levels...right now! Some talk of a deal with Nike to the tune of $1.7m per season.... will see how this story develops over the next 24 hours....

How about Le Coq?
That's a lot of coin! On the other hand, she IS the no. 1.
Halep chooses Le Coq and I like where this is going!
I was hoping that someone would get it.
"He"? LOL!He will wear Lacoste.
thanks"He"? LOL!
That a rumor only and signing will be after AO! We will see when ESPN and/or EuroSport post this! Seen too much to me, $1.7 million Euro annually for 4 years! No GS title to her name either!I read somewhere, Halep signed a 4 yr deal with Nike
I like her, but man is it crazy that in the women's game you can become world #1 without winning a major. I can't remember the last men's player ranked #1 that didn't win at least one slam. Marcelo Rios, maybe?
Nike does not need Halep.... I don’t understand why they dump 1.7 mil euro per a year for 4 years????
Nike should spend 1.7 mil euro per a year to hire multiple designers for Tennis.

Marketing team should not select colors. This is a pretty wide spread misconception: it is not a design problem, it's a marketing issue. It is always the marketing team that decides what design goes to market or not. Let me give you an example. Not too long ago, each year, GM had always been hiring the top graduate of the Art Institute in Pasadena, CA. And for the longest time the consumers were complaining that GM cars were too boring. How is that possible? They had the best crop of designers after all. Well, it's not their designers, it's their marketing team that sucked.
She should drive them all crazy mix&match, nike top, wilson skirt, asics shoe, Adidas wrist bands, head socks, etc.SO where does one get logo-less tennis attire?
I think Rios is the only ever example of that happening
First, all the tennis clothes were "tight" then.Big companies like their contract to go head to toe. I know for a fact that new balance wanted to sign Nole after the adi contract and then passed on him because he'd signed wiht Uniqlo. How many people know that Borg was wearing diadora shoes? What about her tennis shoes?in an AO interview, she said her manager ordered plain red dresses from a website in China.
Her dress looks great on her and I hope to see different colors in same design. At least we know she will look good winning her first major.
They should be. Adidas Falcon line was great and ND apparently loved it.I'm assuming the Adidas employees involved with the "Djokovic Mistake" ended up in concrete boots.
Not sure if it's unprecedented, but it's still head-scratching that the number one player in the world is in the final of a grand slam with no clothing sponsor.
https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=tennis+dressShe said she bought it on a Chinese website. Alibaba? Anyone have the precise URL?
did she buy it there or have a seamstress custom make it bases on the model?
