Adidas Lendl GTX Pro Racquet...

Semi-Pro
I recently found out that one of my relatives has a Adidas Ivan Lendl GTX Pro tennis racquet. He said that he doesn't play tennis any more, so he is going to give it to me. I wanted to know: How much is it worth (how much could I sell it for) and if I decide to keep it, what should I string it with, and at what tension? I will post pictures once I get the actual racquet.

i had mine strung with psgd at 40 lbs. i like low string tension and i went lower for this racquet because it has a smaller headsize than today's racquets.

I play with 3 such racquets, one Kneissl White Star and two Adidas GTX-pro's, and string mine at 60lbs.
I prefer them over my hyper hammer.
I can't afford, however, to pay 200$ for a racquet to play with.
I payd most of mine no more than 50€ transport to Belguim included.
Two of my racquets are severely dammaged, and won't last for very long,
so i'm still searching...

Here is my take on the price of Lendl's racquet:

1) brand new (plastic on handle) with cover = > $500; no cover = $450.
2) 9.5 or mint with few scratch on the grommet only or other minor flaws like paint chips with cover = $350 to $400; no cover = $325 to $350.
3) 9 to 9.4999999 with few minor scuffing on the head or the sides with cover = $300; no cover = $275.
4) 8 to 9 with quite a bit of scratches and scuffing = $150 at the most even with cover.
5) <8/10 = not collectible item, less than $125 even with cover. Remember this racquet is not easy to use and is not for the average joe and jane.

In U.S. dollar, not euro or amero or pound or sterling or franc. The price is subject to change, let's say, after nobody remembers who Lendl is, you probably can get $50 for a brand new one.

If you play like Rafa then sell it and get 2 babolats. If you want to learn to play classic tennis with Eastern grips, flatter and longer swings, then keep it and enjoy for many years :) Once you get use to the weight, you will be good for the rest of your tennis playing career, given you keep up your strenght and skills.

I think your assessments are spot on for the GTX Pro-T.
From what I have observed on the auction site, the GTX Pro seems to go for a little bit higher since it is older and rarer if it is in collectible condition :)

Yeah, GTX Pro is a little bit older, so it probably can command like $30 to $50 premium over the GTX Pro-T. :)

This thread made me so happy. I have an Adidas Lendl GTX Pro and its brother a Kneissl White Star Lendl Pro. Both 9/10. Purchased for $3 each at yard sales.

Thanks for the good news.

Your GTX Pro looks clean from the side, too bad there is too much wore on the grip, that would bring it down to 8.5 to 9 out of 10 (in my previous post, I didn't factor in the grip condition). From that angle, can't tell if there is excessive scuffing on the head/sides, you should be happy to get $200 to $225 for it with the cover in excellent condition. On the other hand, if there are a lot of head scratches or scuffing, you probably able to get $100 for it.

What are brand new Lendl GTX Pro-T racquets going for that came from the Bosworth Collection? I'm assuming more than $500 since they at one time actually belonged to Lendl himself.

If Lendl actually played with that racquet, just kindly add $300 to $500 sentimental preium. :)
