"What is my level? I know my BH needs work but is there any chance I'm a 5.0 or at least a 4.5?
If it's hard to tell my level from video, what about my strokes? Are they 4.5+ level?"
He'd like answers from people who don't know him or haven't played him only.

Your strokes look good but there’s no way to tell with the view on the video that you are 5.0. I need to see you playing out some points before a determination can be made.

He also asked about his strokes mechanics. Are they 5.0 level?
Could be. Advanced players are only as good as their midcourt shots are.

I know 3.5s who can force a short ball with ground strokes but then mess up the shorter ball.

He’s a 5.0 if he can compete with 5.0’s. Without seeing where the ball is going and how fast, I can’t comment on the strokes. He might as well be shadow swinging and even a 3.5 makes decent shadow swings.

is the ntrp only measured by win/lose results:?))) or visual/audio effect as well..........lololololol man:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D..............
even though dis guy's footwork reasonably ok n the missing small steps 'fine tune' might just bcs seemed like warmup hitting, but bit arming the fh, the torso rotation just kinda 'showy only' not much functionality there n missing stretching etcetc, man. the loaded/charged energy only released aft the rh/ball contact ie the ammo/food etc logistic support only arrived aft the battleo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O.......................casualty gonna be bit high if keep doing dis man:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D....................

LOL

also dis guy's kinda of murray blurry type, who's the other end:?)))........a kid junior toura or something or a young rec lady there:?)))

sometimes in order to keep rally going, have 2 go w/o stretching kinda well controlled 'broken kc'...........otherwise the ball won't come back n keep picking up balls no fun at all man:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:........................

dis guy might just go easy on the other end as he's directing all the shots to opponent's bh(righty) or fh(lefty) n not making any error w/ nice trajectory, but the other end kept netting or missing even no pace or 'warm up pace', though still the other end might b a 4.5 or 4.0....................lololololol manohman:love::love::love::love::love::love::love:......................

Sigh. That's Jim Courier from quite a few years ago when he was using the Wilson nSix-One Tour 90.

What's his 4.5 record? 8-B

Seems like solid hitting ... would be useful to see hitting on the run, serve etc ... but If I had to guess ... this is a strong 4.5+ hitting

NTRP is based on competitive play. No way to tell from a one sided video.

Now as for Jim Courier, he's got to at least be a 5.0 still right? Has he actually played any matches recently?

The lower you rate Courier, the lower your own level is.
lol you get me wrong, I was joking :p I'm a big fan of Courier. I was looking for comments like "No way he's a 5.0", "He's a 4.0 at best", "He doesn't have modern technique, 4.0 at best", etc.
The story is that some people tend to judge other people's level based on hitting video, which is completely ridiculous. That's why I made this thread to show that you cannot judge someone based on their hitting video and Jim Courier is a perfect example of that

if the other end's a 4.5 or 4.0, in order to keep the rally alive he's got to be something similar, man. a kindaf demo joker/bull vs ball boys/girls scenario ie 'when u in rome, speak rome'...........lololololol, quite simple man:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D...............

the only thing different's the well controlled placements, the 'down geared' guy directing every shot to the trainees fh or bh in his/her comfort zone w/o errors n the ball coming back spreading everywhere, n quite often the trainee getting impatient or annoyed or naughty or watava thinking to hit some winners.........hilarious man, but instead all ue:love::love::love::love::love:.........

good one ... his technique always did seem weird ... but like I said - from that video tough to gauge the depth and placement ...

Yes, but you can see that the ball comes off his racket really fast for the apparent amount of effort. Still, I will say that Courier has an ugly backhand stroke.

You didn't need to post a video of Courier for that. A couple of months ago someone tried to convince me that a French satellite player with ATP points was 4.5.

I haven't looked at any of the replies to see other's opinion. I wanna keep my answer pure.

I think your tennis level is weak 4.0. Your video recording skill is around 2.5.

You should come to this place more often to seek our wisdom. Good luck.

This 4.0 would bagel 99.99% of ttw members 8-B

Played any matches lately? Jim runs and plays the Invesco series tour and plays competitively all the time against guys like Haas, Fish, Blake, Roddick, McEnroe etc.

So yeah - I think he's probably at least a 5.0 - LOL.

And some of the other replies here. Wow - this place sometimes.
