I think this talk of a metal hip is misleading. He hasn't had a hip replacement. He still has his own natural hip joint which has had a covering of metal to make its movement smoother and less painful.

After the disqualification in New York and bagel beatdown at RG last year along with Medvedev’s superb form at the start of the year, Djokovic seemed to be an old relic of pre-COVID times suffering from long-term COVID fog. Instead, he triumphed at the first three Slams of the year to assert his ascent to the GOAT throne especially after getting his revenge on Rafa unexpectedly on Parisian clay. His fall at the Olympics and the USO just reaffirmed that he will always be a flawed hero full of pathos rather than a fairytale prince who elevates tennis to sublime levels for the casual fan and mainstream media.
