Roger is looking very vulnerable this year post AO, and imho his clay preparation had been severely effected by a significant drop in his level of play.

There is a streak that dates 8 years back to 2002, while it may not be overally significant in the overall picture, it is one of Roger's oldest ones.

He has reached a Masters 1000 event final on clay at least once every year from 2002.

2002 - Hamburg
2003 - Rome
2004 - Hamburg
2005 - Hamburg
2006 - Monte Carlo, Rome
2007 - Monte Carlo, Hamburg
2008 - Monte Carlo, Hamburg
2009 - Madrid

Can he keep this particular one alive considering the draw and his drop in form?

That first Hamburg was great, beating Guga and Safin, playing lots of S&V.

Yes it was, and it was his first big title. I think he had lost earlier that year to Agassi in Miami in his first ever big final, but made up for it in Hamburg in impressive form. It does seem like a long time ago now...
