Any volkl organix 4 thoughts?

I cant seem to find much user info/experiences for it. (cant search for 4).

I have been demoing one and really enjoy it over the xv1mp and the donnay dual xp 102. Anyone out there actually us the x4 much? I think tomorrow I'm going to ahead and purchase it and call it a day.

Any reason its not that popular? I played great with it. The length mentally bothers me because most I've looking at are 27, but it didn't seem to affect playability for me, seemed to gel with it.

It seems like a pretty sweet stick, albeit it "OS." If you like it, you should definitely use it! The specs seem to be solid and as long as there isn't any arm pain or totally uncontrollable power I don't see why you wouldn't get it!

I agree. If you are playing well with it, stick with it. I imagine so people are hesitant to try because it is OS and some people might think it has too much power. I also agree that the specs look very solid.

One thing that has often been debated on these boards is that Volkl doesn't really have a presence on the pro tour and therefore there is a lack of following by younger and club players. I find that people that try and like Volkl tend to stick with it or the Volkl influenced Becker lines. In allowing people to hit with my Volkl and Becker frames, two people I routinely play with have already made the switch. Neither knew anything about volkl prior to testing out my frames.

I had always used Prince frames but suffered some elbow and shoulder injuries after returning to the game. Someone suggested Volkl and Becker and I have been somewhat hooked since. I briefly went back to the Prince Rebel 98 but it turned out to be less arm friendly even with the lower flex rating.

Sounds like you really are playing well. I say pull the trigger on the x4.

My wife swung by and grabbed me the xv1 OS to try based on conversation with someone at the shop. Not sure, she was just going to do a drop off. Ill hit a few with that as well and see, but imagine I will be buying the x4. ...ready to buy something and just focus on making it work.

FINALLY got to try this little gem of a racquet. It's been on my radar for about 2 years now. It's crazy that the X4 isn't more popular. The specs are perfect for all us 40/50 something rec playes that aren't as quick or as strong as we used to be. Yes it's an OS (105") but it feels like a (light) players racquet. The beam is a "thin" 25mm and it has a nice combo of flex and stiffness (65).

I also don't know why it's the X "4"? It should be called the X "7.5" or the "X7 Light". Great all around, slightly OS racquet without "too much" power. Its pretty light at 300 grams strung, but it doesn't feel flimsy. Anyone else using this or the new SuperG one?

It is "4" because it is similar in specs to prior "4"s in the Volkl series. Generally the higher in number you go the heavier and/or smaller headsize you get with Volkl. They kind of messed up this trend with the recent 7s. The 7s use to be 11 oz 100 sq in. racquets and they changed that with the PB7 and Organix7 which are OS racquets.

The 6 has a smaller headsize 100 vs 105, thinner beam 24 vs 25 mm, with the same weight so I would say it is actually more advanced (although very slightly).

The 5 has a smaller headsize 100 vs 105, thinner beam 23 vs 25 mm but weight 9.8 oz vs 10.2 oz. This one is probably more debatable but I would say most rec players would probably find it easier to hit with the 4 than the 5 because the 5 would be lower powered and less forgiving.

unfamiliar with the xv1 o/s-I recently started using the organix v1 o/s but that is a 110 that really doesn't feel like it.I used a friends and liked it so much I left pro kennex and went to the volkl.The solid feel (almost a dense solid feel)of the volkl I find addictive.It is a flex of 66 but after about 6 wks my arm is still fine and I have a history of arm troubles.I hope volkl live up to its rep.

Its a great racquet. At first mine felt light coming from my Warrior Pro, but now I am used to it and playing it stock. It doesn't ever twist in my hand and feels very solid. I have mine strung with Volkl Psycho hybrid at 52/54 and it's pretty nice.

I am a 5.5 rated player and have been using the "4" series of Volks for about 11 years, I love them, especially the PB 4 and the original catapult. Anyone out there who has hit with the Super G 4 and the PB 4? I'd love to hear comments. I am a senior highly ranked player.

just wanted to bump this thread since I have been back using this stick recently and still can't believe it's not more popular with the adult rec playing crowd of 3.5-4.5.
It's light but doesn't feel like a fly swatter. Solid feeling on impact and does everything well. For an all-courter that plays doubles as well as singles, you can't get much better than this. String it lower with multi and you get good power but still in control. String it higher with poly and you get tons of control to swing away as hard as you like. Works brilliantly for touch and feel shots and is fast and quick around the net. It's like a swiss army knife of a racquet and can handle any style of play or type of shot you want to try. Only players I wouldn't recommend this for are baseline bashers who rely primarily on loopy topspin shots. There are better choices (like the APD) for that style of play.
