Im looking to see if these are still out there somewhere...its not the standard 6.1 Hyper Carbon but the "tour" version, a little different, and it came in an 18*20.

Do you mean the Euro spec HPC 6.1 that TW sold a couple of years ago. It was 12.8 oz, with an 18x20 string pattern. It was stiff, but had a nice balance. Didn't play heavy. Nice old school racquet. It had yellow in the head area where the U.S. spec has silver.

Have one, believe Wilson makes this spec available to college players. Bought one from a Buckeye a couple yrs ago. #1 baby!

its so nice im selling it//....

Jorel, I am actually indirectly purchasing these from you lol. You sold to another member who is now selling to me.
You mentioned in the sales thread that, these racquets were customized by Bosworth, but you took off the customizations since they were too heavy for you.
Can I ask, what kind of customizations were done by Bosworth? Where exactly were the racquets leaded up? Was the lead on the pallet, at 3&9 or at 12 o'clock, etc..?

Sacrifices have to be made from time to time...room has to be cleared out.

Btw, it really is a nice racquet. Crazy solid and I can whip it around pretty decently given the weight.

Jay, can you please pleas tell about the playing characteristics of this racquet compared w/ a stock PT630?

about 10-15 lead at the 3 and 9 and a custom Bosworth sticker he stuck in place at the end of the buttcapp... really nice work.

Thanks!
Well what do you mean by 10-15? 10-15 layers? Or 10-15 inches of lead?
Thanks again..

Both hit with a satisfying THUD but the stiffnesses, weights and balances are way different. The 6.1 is weighted way more HL than the PT630 IMO and that's what salvaged it for me; 12.8 but 10-11pt HL is manageable to swing around for 3 sets for me. The upper hoops are vastly different too with the 6.1 being stiffer.

Thanks a lot. What if you wanted to compare the slices, forehands, the serves etc? And did HPS'being too HL (with a lower SW of 330) made you feel it less stable to you compared to more HH balance of PT630?

It didn't feel less stable b/c of the 6.1 balance being too HL. Stroke wise, the 6.1 seemed slightly easier to get around b/c of the balance and I have a slight bias toward the 6.1 family b/c I used the PSC6.1 for 7 years so the strokes were dialed in right away. Probably the biggest thing I noticed was the stiffness as I described before, my game didn't deteriorate b/c I have extensive history with both the 6.1 and PT and so my strokes didn't suffer at all.

Presuming it's the same frame we're talking about (HPS 6.1 - Eu frame w/18x20 string pattern), to me the rack played as follows/has these features:

. very head-light
. very spinny (even for an 18x20)
. excellent manouverability (you retrieve all day long from all over)
. nice solid weight
. very stiff (one of the harshest I've tried tbh)
. good control
. decent on groundies (if a tad underpowered)
. decent on serving (if a tad underpowered)

Compared to the PT 630, it lacks the buttery feel (of course!), and, due to the balance, is more an all court frame as opposed to a b-liner's frame imo (I actually hit short a bit too often for my liking.)

I don't believe my HPS was as heavy as the 12.08g someone mentioned before.

IMO it isn't in the esteemed league of the PT 630, or the PSC 6.1, or the n95. That said, I only ever played with the 1 string job, so I didn't experiment in this important area, which might well have unduly influenced my impressions.
