I'm curious if loyal fan of the Wilson Pro Staff have made a switch to Yonex VCore Tour 89 racquet. I've always been a fan of the PS because I'm a fan of Pete Sampras and I like the frame of the PStaff. I've never used any other racquet other than the Wilson. Having said that, I want to try something new in hope it would give me a better advantage over the PStaff. My question is if you made a switch to say Yonex Vcore Tour 89 and never looked back.

I've used the PS85 for over 10 years. I started using the stick in High School. Throughout the years, I've experimented with several different rackets. I find myself switching back to the PS after about 2-3 weeks. NOTHING compares to the feel and control of PS. My dropshots and backhand slices are definitely complimented with the PS.
I too, am on the fence of switching to the Vcore Tour 89. I demoed the racket for about two weeks and I must say that it can really be a contender for me to make the switch (for more than 2-3 weeks). It gives me the sort of POP that I can never really seem to get with the PS. I hope this helps.

I did try my friend's racket (Tour 89) for a few minutes but didn't like the "feel"; perhaps it was the strings (I think it was either ProKennex or Pacific Hybrid), but I could not get the same feel as my BLX PS 90 (RPM hybrid with Sensation). I think for some reason, I prefer Yonex's versions of 98 square inch rackets, not their mids, 
For example, I thought the Yonex RDS 001 Midplus was a superb racket, but didn't like the mid version.

I loved the K90 but had to switch because of wrist pain. The Yonex Tour 89 is a phenomenal racquet, but it definitely is muted. It plays amazingly well, but it does lack feel and touch. Oh well, nothing's perfect I guess.

I always tell people that if you didn't grow up playing with a Yonex, it's awkward to swing. Well at least, it is to me.
And I think there's a reason why Yonex users are extremely loyal to Yonex. They find everything else awkward perhaps?

I love Yonex quality but all the demos models I have tried, I can't get use to the different shape of the racquet. I never seem able to find that sweetspot like other racquets.

I'm sure there are, but that's beyond the scope of my original point. I was simply stating that because of Yonex's square-ish head shape, it swings funny to me. And I'm very sensitive to the way a racquet behave through the air.
It took me a long time to get used to the rounder shape of Wilson's Pro Staffs, coming from the more egg-shaped/oval of the Head's Prestige Mid.

As mentioned above, I feel the VCT89 is muted (think i.Prestige). You won't get much feedback from the racquet flexing. It has a more modern feel than classic feel. Easy to swing, good pop and spin, and pretty stable in stock form with leather grip. It just lacks that classic flex/feel that the PS85 and RDTi88 possess. Overall, an excellent racquet.

I used the Prostaff Classic 6.1 more many years and made the switch (also tried a few other frames in between) to the Yonex RDiS 100 93'
I'm definately sold on the construction of the Yonex frames. The shape of the head and reletive larger sweet spot are awesome and the frames are generally more well balanced in my opinion. All in all I'd say give the Yonex a try and see if the newer technology doesn't win you over as it has for me.

I've played both the PS 85 and BLX Tour 90. I liked the feel of the BLX Tour 90. I would assume the feel would be the same for BlX PS 90. However, PS 85 is still the best in terms of control and feels great. It took me awhile to get used to hitting a small frame but which I found the sweetspot, it's the bomb.
I've heard good reviews for the Yonex Tour 89 which is why I wanted to get everyone's opinion.
I've been with the Yonex 89 for three weeks, and it definitely has more pop than the Wilson PS 90 (2012 version), however I think the PS is probably a better racquet, although you can certainly have your preference. I would not feel comfortable playing with the Yonex 89 on clay, as the trajectory of my ball with this racquet is basically horizontal across the net, the ball drives really well, and although I can generate some spin, that is only on high, loopy balls, and not my regular groundstroke.
I've used Wilson 90s since 2007, I think the K Factor is the best, either I am going back to K Factor 90 or the new Wilson Blades with Amplifeel for 2013 feel quite good. Really, the Wilson feel is the best you can experience in a racquet. Either a 2013 Blade or the K Factor 90 for me.
