AO 18 Dark Horses?

Mischa Zverev, if the surface plays fast this year. He beat Murray in 2017 en route to the AO quarters, where he lost to Fed. He needs fast courts to have a chance this year with his net play.

Actually that's true. 2nd favourite can't be an underdog.

Zverev isn't the second favorite to win the AO. He's currently the fourth or fifth favorite according to most betting sites. But still, you can't call him a darkhorse for sure.

With a bit of luck, if the draw opens up with surprise top seed losses, I'd say any of these-

Dimitrov
Zverev
Delpo
Sock
Berdych

Even more far fetched but if these guys can come back fresh and on-fire:

Tsonga
Raonic
Nishikori
Stan

Dark horses:

Delpo, Goffin, Jack Sock.

I have a feeling Sock will win one single slam at some point, but US Open seems more likely.

Kyrgios isn't really a dark horse bc he's been hyped for so long. Maybe he'll eventually get his act together, maybe he won't.

The only way Jack Sock wins a Grand Slam is if the draws are changed to 32 and they play 2 out 3 sets. The guy, for whatever reason, cannot physically last a whole 2 week tourney.

I call Hyeon Chung. I will bump this when he makes quarters at a minimum.

Chung safely into 3rd round. Watch him take down Zverev now.
