Appropriation of the Masters Titles.

There are 4 Slam tournaments held in France, Australia, Britain and USA.

There are 9 Masters tournaments held in France, Canada, Italy, Spain, Monaco, China and USA x3.

There are 13, ATP 500 tournaments held in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Holland, UAE, China, Japan, Austria, USA, Britain, Switzerland and German x2.

Bringing the total MS & 500 tally to:

4 by United States
2 by Spain
2 by China
2 by Germany

In terms of multiple hosting.

I have to say that what I notice first is the painful lack of South American top tier tournaments. I mean, let's be serious for a moment. Brazil having a 500 tournament and that's it for the continent is insane.

You have Kuerten, Del Potro, Nalbandian and Vilas as big names of the sport and you have 1 freaking 500 tournament? That is brutal.

Now with the current Masters, the current can obviously not be touched:

Canada has only 1 tournament and is a major player.
France has no 500s and hosts the French Open.
Monaco is a special niche.
China is the only Asian country here.
Spain has too many stars and popularity to ignore.
Indian Wells & Miami are 96 player draws and awesome for it and their capacity.

So that leaves Rome & Cincinnati. Americans probably want to kill me for even bringing Cincinnati up and surely before the USO there has to be an American Masters BUT I think it's a tad overdone really. Many players skip either Canada or Cincinnati so as to not overload themselves. The state of Ohio has always seemed odd for me to host a major tennis tournament and its central court capacity is only bigger than Rome and Monte Carlo.

I'd absolutely relegate Cincinnati to the 500 and replace it with either Japan or Holland. Rio is currently clay and I suppose that would be appropriate for replacing Rome.

But this would still leave the Masters with the following breakdown:
3 EU
3 in NA
2 in Asia

1 in SA

And still not 1000 on grass.

The Araneta Coliseum in the Phillipines should also host some major tennis tournament yearly.

In a perfect world we have 10 Masters 1000 and they look like this:

3 in Europe
3 in North America
2 in Asia
2 in South America

4 on Fast Hard
3 on Clay
2 on Slow Hard
1 on Grass

We don't need Miami. That should go as masters at Australasia.

Similarly, I would not be averse to a fast court in South America being a replacement for Cinci for proper appropriation.

And make Queens / Halle grass masters.
